Besides watching #Sevan personally heat and hammer gold to size the incredible ring Rupert bought for our engagement, we feasted on kebabs and played around with enough jaw-dropping jewels to make a queen blush! We decided that the face inside this articulated octopus is a Turkish Sultan version of @rupertfriend

One of the reasons I adore @sevanbicakcijewellery is because every piece tells a story, and each is one-of-a-kind. This ornamental bejeweled desktop piece shows ancient city columns besieged by war. Centuries’ evidence of #byzantine and #ottoman weapons lay beside the broken columns, but the only thing still standing is the column which hides within it a #pen…because #knowledge is more powerful. Old school #graffiti in #Istanbul by a 9th century Viking named Halvdan. He came all that way, was bowled over by #Constantinople, converted to #Christianity, and then just carved his name into the Turkish marble. He was no @joseparla !
