Bairavaa released in January 2017 was the last outing for Ilayathalapathy Vijay in Tamil. Directed by Bharathan of Azhagiya Tamil Magan fame Bairavaa marked the collaboration of the director with the actor for the second time. The movie which was based on a mafia running a medical college, had Keerthy Suresh playing the lead female role and the music was by Santhosh Narayanan.
The movie was received well by the audience and the critics alike and was even declared a hit by the analysts in the Industry. Now the movie is all set to make its mark in the Telugu speaking states. Vijay’s movies were being regularly dubbed and released in states like Andhra and Kerala. Vijay has got a considerable fan base in Andhra Pradesh and Telengana. The actor has also got a huge fan base in Kerala too.
His movies release simultaneously in Tamil Nadu and Kerala and his movies are known to do better at the Kerala box offices too. Bairavaa has got the biggest opening for the star at the box office next only to blockbusters like Theri and Kaththi. The telugu dubbed Bairavaa is titled as Vijaya Bairavaa. Slated for a May release, the release was postponed to make way for the S.S.Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali 2. Now that Baahubali has released and created records, Vijaya Bairavaa will make its way to screens by the end of May.
Vijay is currently working for Vijay 61 under Atlee’s direction. Marking the second time collobaration with the Theri director, Vijay 61 is being extensively shot in US, India and some parts of Europe. The movie is being funded by Thenandal Films.
