Venkat Prabhu the popular director turned producer with his last film Chennai 28- Second Innings, which was a sequel to the 2007 superhit Chennai 28. Venkat Prabhu who directed the original decided to produce the sequel along with the producer of the original, Capital Cine Creators.
Venkat Prabhu introduced his production company Black Ticket Company with the second part of Chennai 28 which went on to become a blockbuster of the year. After the success of the movie, Venkat Prabhu announced that he is on the lookout for a good script to produce another movie under his banner.
He announced now that the title of his next production as ‘R.K.Nagar’. The title named after the popular constituency where former Chief Minister J.Jayalalitha had contested. Touted to be a political satire the movie have Vaibhav playing the lead while Sana Althaf of Chennai 28 fame will be playing the female lead. Saravana Rajan of Vadacurry fame, who is also a former associate of Venkat Prabhu will be directing the movie.
Premgi Amaran will be composing the tunes while Sampath will be playing the antagonist. Praveen K.L has signed to be the editor of the movie and Vasukhi Bhaskar has been signed as the costume designer for the flick. Vidhesh has been signed as the art director and Venkatesh has been signed to crank the camera.
The ace director also announced that the movie will not be a full fledged political satire but will be a fun filled entertainer with a tinge of politics.
