I had wondered about climbing the dagger directly (as opposed to climbing the thin smears over right) but assumed it might require bolts. As I started up I began to spot more than ample rock protection and soon found myself chimneying up between the rock and the ice. Higher up the fun began, as the clearly detached dagger made spooky noises as I tapped and hooked my way up it, getting further and further from my last bird beak in the rock. Everything held together but my heart skipped a beat each time the dagger made a loud booming crack releasing tension from inside. #spicytimes | Posted on 14/Feb/2018 21:31:49
