Judges for DIF being England’s Paul McEvoy ( Founder/ FrightFest London, England ) Belgium’s Romain Roll ( Director of Brussels International Film FestivaI ) and Film Director Milan Todorovic/Serbia on October 22, 2017 in Brasov, Romania. .
His first collaboration with Andrea Boncea and Catalin Catoiu 11 years ago for ‘California Dreamin’ with the late Director Christi Namescu was Awarded by 21 International Film Festivals, including Cannes.

The red carpet at the Venice Film Festival last night in Italy was graced with screen legends Claudia Cardinale, Susan Sarandon, George Clooney, a super toast to Italian luminaries and Armand Assante was honored with the ‘Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica’ not just for his silent portrayal of ‘Ulu Begh,The Man who Unlocked the Universe’ which won Best Documentary here but for his diversity as Actor and for discovering his friend Director Bakhodir Yuldashev, singling him out at a Film Festival in Chechnya ten years ago as one the most talented cinematographers he had ever seen. Yuldashev is not the first Director Assante pushed into the international spotlight. Assante told his Audience in Venice that his life ‘was a result of long term committed relationships and believing in people’. He congratulated Producer Lola Karimova for her championing the Film, it’s team and her huge Humanitarian effort in supporting over 4000 Orphans in her country as well as bringing into the limelight finally the scientific and cultural genius of Uzbekistan throughout history. Actress Oana Marcu and Actor Armand Assante attended the screening of their Film, ‘The Wanderers Quest of the Demon Hunter’ which received ‘Best Horror Feature Film’ at the Garden State Film Festival. The Festival now in its 16th year, is founded and produced by Diane Raver.
Christopher Lloyd received the Beacon Award, Armand Assante received the Most Valuable Player Award and Xander Berkeley received the Lifetime Achievement Award.
Attending as well were actors Ed Asner, Aida Turturro, Jude Moran, Garry Pastore, and Chance Kelly. .

On May 19th, 2017 Armand will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award at the @hobokenfilmfest 2017 in Orange County N.Y. not far from his farm where he has resided for the past 33 years.

The Festival bows at Greenwood Lake, N.Y. 2016 found Armand Filming Dragos Buliga’s ‘The Wanderers’ in the most remote and beautiful regions of Romania. Already rumored to be a very cool cult Film presently being exhibited at the Cannes Film Festival, it is due for release later this year.

He stars as well in Mars Callahan’s ‘Four Kings’ romp on Poker and the wild cards that game that game amidst a gallery of great Actors including a turn by Mike Tyson. Armand’s portrayal of ‘Jack Wolf’ has drawn accolades.

The DocuDrama he has been making with Uzbek Director Bakhodir Yuldashev on the life of 15th Century Astronomer ‘Uluh Beg’ is in competition in the Venice Film Festival.

He has just completed filming with action Director William Kaufman in Bulgaria.
