Armand Assante Instagram – Venice Film Festival / 2017 / Italy Assante Award Recipient The red carpet at the Venice Film Festival last night in Italy was graced with screen legends Claudia Cardinale, Susan Sarandon, George Clooney, a super toast to Italian luminaries and Armand Assante was honored with the ‘Mostra Internazionale d’Arte Cinematografica’ not just for his silent portrayal of ‘Ulu Begh,The Man who Unlocked the Universe’ which won Best Documentary here but for his diversity as Actor and for discovering his friend Director Bakhodir Yuldashev, singling him out at a Film Festival in Chechnya ten years ago as one the most talented cinematographers he had ever seen. Yuldashev is not the first Director Assante pushed into the international spotlight. Assante told his Audience in Venice that his life ‘was a result of long term committed relationships and believing in people’. He congratulated Producer Lola Karimova for her championing the Film, it’s team and her huge Humanitarian effort in supporting over 4000 Orphans in her country as well as bringing into the limelight finally the scientific and cultural genius of Uzbekistan throughout history.
