Sadha Instagram – Been meaning to write about silk for the longest time. I’ve earlier endorsed Silk textile brands not realising the cruelty behind it.. But ever since I’ve gone Vegan, I’ve taken a pledge, to not support silk industry in any way. Not only in my personal life but also in the professional life.. and that means not wearing silk on screen or featuring in silk saree commercials or attending any inaugurations for silk brands. I find it unethical to build my castle on someone else’s pain and suffering. FYI, silk is created by the fibre that silkworms produce to make their cacoons, something they need. But the ever greedy humans boil the silkworms alive while they are vulnerbaly awaiting to transform.. Approx 3000 worms are killed in a voilent painful manner to make just 1 pound of silk. Not worth it.. Nothing can be beautiful or fashionable about cruelty. Go for Art Silk (artificial silk) P.S.
