Jessika Van Instagram – What a truly amazing weekend. Sometimes we go in expecting one thing and we get another. I didn’t realize how much I needed the help, but our talks this weekend opened me up to myself, and though heavy, got through to me and inspired me to speak my truth and grow from my roots instead of escaping into moment to moment distractions.
@antimattered & @aimeegarcia4realz : you blow me away with your strength, depth, soul, intelligence, and the vastness of your minds. You open me up to worlds that I wouldn’t access on my own, and this is truly the power of friendship between women that I’ve always wanted but have been afraid to expect. You showed me that there are people there to hold me and hold my feelings if I trust and share, and that I am never as alone or as other as I feel.
I hope you all find this kind of love and mentorship and support from sisters and brothers who have no ulterior motive but for you to be your best, and who take the time – if only in spurts (because life is filled with so many things and the distance between us is often great) – to heal you in this moment, because this one can change the rest.
