So I met Haley when she was 17 and she took my class in Chicago. She’s been by my side for 7 years and is freaking amazing. Truly one of a kind. I remember seeing something in her that she didn’t see in herself and that’s one of my favorite parts of being a mentor in the industry. It’s all about empowering people to be better than they can imagine. ❤️

When I started choreographing, I couldn’t understand why there were so many issues with music copyright and why choreographers weren’t getting paid royalties on their choreography for music videos, tours, tv shows or even YouTube videos. And when I would ask why, the answer I would get was, “it’s just always been that way.” Think about how often we’ve accepted things just because “they’ve always been that way”. It’s infuriating, isn’t it? My goal the past few years has been to work closely with major record labels to help them realize that dancers and choreographers have a lot of influence in pop culture and I’ve been working with Simon Fuller to set a precedent for royalties and ownership of choreography. A huge thank you to all the labels for working with us and helping us fight the good fight and to Simon for being a forward thinker. Let’s make history. 😍 Los Angeles, California

This month has been off to a crazy start and it’s not slowing down. It’s definitely been GO time! Been struggling to find time for myself recently, but everything happening is something I wished for at some point in my life. Even if the craziness of our everyday lives seems too much at times, let’s power through it. Success comes with hard work.
I’ve been motivated to take time for a quick/short run when I need a little escape from the stress. It helps clear my mind and slows me down in a fast paced city like LA. Give it a shot! A lot of life is jumping over hurdles. I’ve faced a LOT of them along the way. I was bullied in middle school, super self-conscious in high school, broke in college, and have been battling cancer after graduating. It’s been a rough road, but every time I jump over a hurdle, I realize I can jump higher. Now I know there’s nothing I can’t do, but I wish I could tell my 13 year old self that I could jump this high. He never would have believed me.
