The air is heavy with the smell of my favorite frangipani flowers, which is native to Bengal. Happily settled in the quietest corner at home. Waiting to devour flower-child @lisaraniray’s beautiful memoir, @closetothebone.book a second time, with a cup of adrak chai. Or Cha, as they say here in #Kolkata. The book is such a honest, vulnerable, funny and compelling read. If I could put it in one word – it’s reflective. Reading it again, so that the words can really sink in. Read it way too fast and greedily the first time around. I love the unhurried pace of life in Kolkata that allows for simple induldenges like this. Live for langurous mornings like this.
