@lazyoafs @timetochangecampaign mental health anti-stigma campaign – The conversation about mental health need not only concern those of us with mental illnesses – we all go through psychological, emotional and social struggles at points in our lives. At the same time as acknowledging and helping those of us with a mental illness, we must remember that, to some degree, everyone’s psychological and emotional wellbeing will suffer sometimes. So I think it would be helpful to change the conversation in a way that invites everyone to open up about how we are currently feeling and thinking, but to avoid self diagnosis or finite labels. I am predisposed to and suffer from anxiety and depression (as diagnosed by specialists). And I use the word ‘suffer’ because it is painful to live with these conditions and I don’t have control over them, not least because it’s my genetic makeup but because there is not always a source of energy within me to draw from to fight against a thought or feeling. However, I sought professional advice and do take medication and go to therapy to help cope. Hopefully by me sharing this with you, it will make joining the conversation less daunting. #mentalhealthawareness
@crashmagazine interview (Stupidly said microclimate instead of ecosystem but maybe no one cares except me)
25 years of feeling alien to this world but nevertheless always feeling love for it. In what state will the world be in another 25 years, on my 50th birthday? @gretathunberg has organised a global climate strike today and I encourage all of us, not just students, to support her and mitigate the human injustice being done to the world 🧚🏻♀️🌎#climatestrike @fridaysforfuture

Pond Monsters Here’s a video I took earlier this year that made me nostalgic and sad. It reminded me of a time where this scene would’ve been normal and we would’ve continued on without consideration for change. Sadly, it’s still not abnormal – to walk through my local park and see my beloved aves swirling around floating rubbish, totally comfortable with its presence. @harleyweir is selling prints with similar images (of #rubbish ) to raise money for @mcs_uk (who aim to clean up beaches and waters) at @soft_opening – please join her in raising money for a worthy cause and shaming supermarkets/food companies for continuing to endorse non-biodegradable/non-compostable packaging.
