The most important nature conservation project I have ever been involved in was published today. Read the full story on my public Facebook profile, link in my stories. In short: the Minister of Environment asked for my help in raising the missing 350k euros to fund the purchase and removal of hydro power dams in Hiitolanjoki river in eastern Finland. With the help of @lahitapiola_lokaltapiola (they doubled my personal donation of 25,000€) @Patagonia (who matched my 25,000€), @TeemuJuutinen and @antti.pirinen (both contributing a five-figure sum) and a donor who wants to stay anonymous (150,000 euros) enough money was raised, the three dams will be demolished and the river will be restored.
