I have become that shmaltzy mom that enthusiastically poses for photos in front of aquariums and theme parks with her brood. Or perhaps she was always in me, squirming to get out. Whatever, it’s a relief to drop the coolly ironic act and abandon myself utterly to intense and eager enjoyment of just about everything. If you knew me even five years ago, it would have seemed out of the realm of possibility that I might embrace motherhood with such fervour.

Frazzled hair and a Mona Lisa smile while Sufi either thoughtfully plucks my greys or attempts to penetrate mama’s cranium. End of a long, colourful day in #SentosaIsland. This is #motherhoodunfiltered 🙏🏼
Thanks @sameer.sain for the wheels ❤️
Throwing back to a #Kanpur appearance for @rado
If you’ve read #ClosetotheBone you’ll know what an enduring, odd, affectionate and serendipitous relationship (that transcends the purely commercial) I have had as ambassador with this innovative watch brand.
Today as I admire my daughters’ free and curious spirits I hear @GretaThunberg impassioned speech at the #UN in my mind and I know I will show it to my girls when they are ready, as a way to speak truth to power and deliver a blow to apathy and ‘business as usual’.
Joy.

It’s double the giggles with Sufi and Soleil. And for both of them I had to make sure I take double the care when it comes to their baby care products. And that’s why I trust @Johnsonsbabyindia .They declare 100% ingredients on the back of pack. No parabens, no asbestos and definitely no harmful chemicals in any of their products. I’m so glad that I Choose Johnson’s for Sufi and Soleil ✌🏼
Sufi resting face. 🤟🏼😎
Wonder.

As a debut author, I’m honoured to sign each and every copy of #ClosetotheBone presented to me.
By nature I’m shy and private (when I’m not required to adopt extroverted qualities for my work) but if by chance we meet in a lobby or a street corner and you are carrying a copy, don’t hesitate to ask me to sign it. When you do me the kindness of reading my words, it’s the least I can do dear reader 🙏🏼❤️ And don’t forget to share your thoughts on my memoir. A writer longs to know.

Truth is a pathless land.
Man cannot come to it through any organisation, through any creed, through any dogma, priest or ritual, nor through any philosophic knowledge or psychological technique.
He has to find it through the mirror of relationship, through the understanding of the contents of his own mind, through observation and not through intellectual analysis or introspective dissection. – Krishnamurti

❤️ Repost #NancyBelanger : The best way to enjoy my Saturday afternoon: blue sky, quiet boat, amazing landscape, Lisa Ray memoir and a glass of champagne 😇. I love Hong Kong ❤️❤️❤️
Prophetic prose – like this- unfortunately always remains relevant.

Repost from @gretathunberg using @RepostRegramApp – “You are failing us. But the young people are starting to understand your betrayal. The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us I say we will never forgive you. We will not let you get away with this. Right here, right now is where we draw the line. The world is waking up. And change is coming, whether you like it or not.”
My full speech from UN General Assembly in print. Link in bio.
Throwing back to September 2012, just six months after relapsing, when I was on a raw food diet and armed with new healing knowledge, I became the face of the ‘Pantene Beautiful Lengths’ campaign in Canada, encouraging people to donate their hair to make wigs for cancer patients. Today I reflect it’s been many years of advocacy and raising awareness, fostering community and dialogue with patients and care takers and a wider pool of humans, about one of life’s most challenging experiences – a diagnosis of cancer- and how it can lead to an awakening and deeper knowledge of self. I’m humbled by the opportunities, but on reflection, today I need to step into my role as a mother, to embody my best life, continue to write and share my experiences but also acknowledge personal boundaries. There are many others in India today who can carry the torch of awareness forward. I’ve spread myself thin these last few years in service and work, but I know that’s not all there is. I need to turn towards trees, towards mountains and silence to nourish my inner spirit. To become very quiet. To make the decision that allows spirit to rush in. To allow and align rather than manage or (hate this word truly) hustle. To be open to guidance from within and not the cacophony of demands from out. To understand we are more than the sum of our parts. It’s been a long trip to come back to what matters. And in those still moments, before dropping into spirit, the words of the great poet, Mary Oliver, run through my mind: ‘What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?’
Wonder.

Thank you @raffleshotelsingapore for upholding my decades long fantasy of you as a writer’s refuge. You did not disappoint.
Repost from @shalinisharma_ using @RepostRegramApp – Completely stunned with this book. Never expected it to be so evocative, moving, honest. It requires courage to write this bio. The seamless way @lisaraniray carries the reader alongside her on her life’s journey – triumphs, disappointments, warts – it’s the journey of each of us. The chronicle of a seeker who continuously traversed continents, gurus, relationships, philosophies and even a life threatening disease before she found herself. Salute 🙏
Repost from @gretathunberg using @RepostRegramApp – It’s early morning in the Pacific. Soon the sun will rise on Friday the 20th of September 2019. Good luck Australia, The Philippines, Japan and all the Pacific Island nations . You go first! Now lead the way! Happy striking!

Repost from @dramithamd using @RepostRegramApp – Winding down a day of reporting on #artificialintelligence for #health in #India with @lisaraniray incredible memoir, about her life and personal health battle with multiple myeloma. Resilience is earned & learned, never given. Thanks for the reminder. (Also: I believe the book will be released worldwide soon).
Repost from @messycooking_alwaysvegan using @RepostRegramApp – @lisaraniray ‘s memoir #closetothebone is such a refreshingly vulnerable and honest read. Still in the middle of it, but the little glimpses she offers into her ititerient childhood, her search for Identity that crosses Toronto and Calcutta resonate with my life in so many ways. It’s also a very smartly observed book, filled with insight ,both macro and micro of the times she was and is living in. Don’t miss this just because you think it’s another celebrity memoir, there is a strong voice here, brave and full of self awareness. Can’t wait to finish it.
