Not much has changed in 16 years… 2000s pop punk is still my go to Spotify playlist 🙈 so maybe I just learned how to straighten my hair? I did justice to my 10 year old self last night by re-living my one of my fondest childhood memories… my very first concert… If you haven’t guessed it by the fact that I’m wearing a tie… AVRIL LAVIGNE 😭🤘🏻!!!!!!!!! 2002. Yes I was in elementary school. Yes I gave my parents a heart attack asking for black nail polish, spike bracelets and black eyeliner at the mere age of 9. But Avril! Sk8tr Boi!!! I couldn’t save up enough allowance to buy the CD so… I had the cassette tape… and called my friends every time it played on the radio… and had every poster of Avril ever produced on my wall (among others, see 3rd pic straight from my scrapbook). Sk8tr boi still brings me absurd amounts of joy every time it comes on. @avrillavigne has been the soundtrack to over half of my life and going strong 🙌🏻 And no, I wasn’t the only OG Avril fan wearing a tie last night. She mostly played her old songs! Sorry new teen fans, she had to or I would have rioted. #avrillavigneforever

Felt like a little kid all over again at the Huntington Beach Airshow yesterday! Check out my instastory for some videos. My fellow @cfsnowbirds made me oh so proud to be Canadian 🇨🇦 and oh so proud to be in the US with a little red white and blue action 🇺🇸! My ears are extra grateful for some peace and quiet today haha. I’m still shook in the best way. So stunning, so graceful, so powerful. Respect.

What’s your favorite self care ritual??? I am ALL about #SelfCareSunday 💆🏻♀️! Especially when it comes to my skin. I have to wear so much makeup for auditions and work, I’m constantly having to reapply and my skin barely has any time to breathe. So on Sundays I love wrapping up the week with a good skin care routine! ⠀ ⠀ I am currently obsessed with @cocokindskincare . Have you heard of them?! They have changed skincare for me. Cocokind is the most transparent skincare line I have found. Their slogan is “clean and conscious skincare for all” and they’re not kidding. Their products are vegan, organic, chemical and synthetic fragrance free. I have the most sensitive skin on the planet (seriously, please don’t try me haha) and their products are one of the only that don’t further irritate my baby skin! They source all of their ingredients consciously AND they give back to their providers. A couple of weeks ago they were giving back some of their proceeds to the Amazon where they source some of their ingredients. YES. And that’s not all, they also have a foundation that provides financial grants to female entrepreneurs who are focused on creating social impact through business. Come ON! They’re also all about skin education, I have learned so much about how to understand my skin and what it needs through their Instagram stories and blog. They are more than worth a follow. Yes to supporting cool companies with cool products run by cool girls 💛

Stoked to be back on @abcnetwork tonight for @abcthemiddle ‘s long time neighbor, MODERN FAMILY! 9pm TONIGHT 🙌🏻 there’ll be a pool party and lots of shenanigans… Pictured: me still in shock and sheer excitement just hours after finding out I got the part. Is my Pacific Northwest heart showing? 🙈 🌲 I am my happiest in nature. Lush green trees, lakes or creeks, that’s where my heart is most at peace. ⠀ ⠀ Have you guys heard of forest bathing? It’s a traditional Japanese finding that the soil in forests give off chemicals which signal our brains to release endorphins. Therefore taking a deep breath in the forest is scientifically cathartic. YES PLEASE! (So I’m not that crazy!)
Bookworm friends! What books did you read this summer? ⠀ ⠀ I read so many great books this summer!!! I think my favorite by far (with many close seconds) is Lori Gotlieb’s “Maybe You Should Talk to Someone” I could write an entire post on this book! An inside look at a therapist’s world, her clients, and her own therapy sessions. An ode to the beauty of human emotions and therapy! Yes!!!⠀ ⠀ Other book recommendations from Summer 2019: ⠀ – “What Alice Forgot” Liane Moriarty ⠀ – “Matchmaking for Beginners” Maddie Dawson⠀ – “Tribe of Mentors” @timferriss – “Gifts of Imperfection” @brenebrown ⠀ ⠀⠀⠀ Tea Recommendation(s): Trader Joe’s Herbal Supplement and @tazo classic chai.
