Still in awe of the Gombeys. Their footwork their beat their dress. In this moment I was home in a place I had never been. To bear witness to the Gombeys of @bermuda , the Black Indians of Nola, and the Jonkunnu of Jamaica, our bloodline our traditions our creativity are proven unbroken and very much alive. We are all African.

Last weekend we visited a burial ground for Free Blacks and slaves in @bermuda . Still reflecting on the diaspora. On the ancestors whose blood was shed, so we could reach for freedom. On our parallel histories and traditions we encounter along our journey. We are connected. We are brethren. We are sistren. Grateful for this life and my roots.
