Choose Love, Love! Without the sweet life of Love,
living is a burden – as you have seen
. -The Forty Rules of Love
Yesterday on their year-and-a-half birthday, my girls sealed their relationship with the sea. May it always be a presence in their lives: of inspiration, splishy-splash toe wiggling, salty succour and a lens through which to understand the world as vast, propulsive and heart breaking ; scandalously immune to our petty worries.
(Thanks mausi @dipikaagarwal for the girl squad T-shirts 🤟🏼)
When I was a child I saw God
I saw angels;
I watched the mysteries of the higher and lower worlds. I thought all saw the same. At last I realized they did not see…

I wish everyone, believers and non-believers, whatever creed, tribe or religion: peace and relief from anger and confusion in our hearts and minds. Can we lay down our weapons of divisiveness and call on our collective humanity🙏🏼 Can we cease to be distracted from our individual paths of progress and that of the nation by misguided, egotistical men as well as our own egos? I know I was carried away in a wave of moral outrage these last few days, and now I need to step back, breathe, close my eyes, connect with deeper presence. This doesn’t mean giving up the right of resistance. It means finding clarity to know when to press the brakes, when to go full throttle.

I named one of my daughters Sufi after the mystic path to oneness and my other daughter is Soleil, after the sun, warming us all equally. Good night, sayonara, namaste from us 🤟🏼

A language called LOVE!
This is the power of nonviolence. As we celebrate the 150th year of Gandhi his lessons are still relevant ❤️

May peace and understanding reign, my friends.
You cannot fight hate with hate. An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind as they say.
Personally I remain a committed pacifist with humanitarian views, and a spiritual bent of nature (not to mention deeply eccentric) I will continue to express what I feel is just, tempered by a perspective articulated in ‘The Forty Rules of Love’ : ‘religious wars are in essence a linguistic problem. Language…did more to hide than reveal the Truth, and as a result people constantly misunderstood and misjudged in another.’
.
Imagine if ALL of India paused – just paused- to meditate, to reflect, to stay silent and still, just for a day. .
I’m also reflecting on Jesus and his words (I’m not a Christian but rather in my pluralistic world view, I honour him as an enlightened being):
.
‘Forgive them father. For they know not what they do.’

Repost from @onemeerkat using @RepostRegramApp – Families are divided, friends estranged, we’re leaving this decade with a poisonous after taste and there are only two hateful old men to blame. Prime Sinister, Home Monster read placards at the protest. Their tea is a cloudy brew of lies and fear. And while they may overwhelm with mobs, bots and bullets, we must do what we can and resist, resist, resist.
‘I don’t know if this message will reach you but we are a tiny kids cancer charity based in Goa.
We work with kids coming from families below the poverty line. Do you think you would be interested in meeting our kids? It would most definitely uplift their moods.’ .
This message came from Lourdes @sabrcaretrust. I shared my number for further details. . . ‘We have 26 kids currently at the Goa Medical College under treatment.
We are going to be having a Christmas party on 21 Dec // 11 am at Sangath (it’s an NGO in Porvorim). Wanted to check if you’d be available to meet our kids. Most of them may not be able to attend due to their treatment/side effects.
But it would be super nice to have you’
This morning turned into one of the best days of 2019 for me. In spending time with the children and their families, I was not serving them: THEY were serving me. I was delighted and humbled, saddened, uplifted and moved, restored to what is essential; the spirit of love, optimism and generosity reignited after days of feeling worn out by the protests in India. If you feel moved, please extend your support to this beautiful initiative. It’s so real, focused on the children (regardless of religious background I can’t help but add!) and authentic.
Here’s the story of @sabrcare in Lourdes words- and may the Christmas spirit of peace, inclusivity, love and wholehearted generosity bless your life: .
.
‘It all started when my mom was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in Nov 2016 and was given 6 months to live, our world started to crumble at the diagnosis.
Being her primary caregiver, it exposed me to the chaotic and fragmented journey a person living with cancer has to go through here in India. Also a lot of good treatment and care are only available in the metros. Tier 2 cities like Panjim, Pune etc are simply forgotten. We fought for good care and support, and my mom completed 3 years in November and is stable.
Sabrcare was started on June 2018 by 5 women, all of us are friends from school. We also have a personal experience with cancer, most of us you met today has a loved one at home fighting cancer.
We started out by volunteering at our public hospitals, handholding patients and families with information and emotional support, providing financial support when required. .
.
We’ve assisted 26 children and their families through screening/diagnosis/treatment/recovery over the last 1 year. We hope to reach at least 100 more by 2020. ❤’

And @hatecopy breaks it down as only she can 🤟🏼Repost from @hatecopy using @RepostRegramApp – FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NO CLUE OF THE KIND OF GHOUL THAT TOOK OVER THE INDIAN GOV’T:
The Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB), which was approved by parliament on Wednesday, changed the rules of granting citizenship to undocumented migrants to include religion as a criteria. It allows non-Muslims from Pakistan, Bangladesh and Afghanistan who entered India illegally to gain citizenship but bars undocumented Muslims from those countries from doing so. “Prime Minister” (BIG GOBLIN ENERGY) Narendra 🐍Modi’s🐍 government said this will make India a safe haven for Hindus and other religious minorities in the neighboring countries, which are majority Muslim. It is the first law since India gained independence in 1947 that explicitly excludes Muslims. The law BLATANTLY violates India’s constitution for a secular democracy. This bill is the third move since 🐍MODI🐍 won a resounding second term that adversely affects Muslims, who form about 14% of India’s 1.3 billion population. 📝
