Here’s the story of @sabrcare in Lourdes words- and may the Christmas spirit of peace, inclusivity, love and wholehearted generosity bless your life: . . ‘It all started when my mom was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in Nov 2016 and was given 6 months to live, our world started to crumble at the diagnosis. Being her primary caregiver, it exposed me to the chaotic and fragmented journey a person living with cancer has to go through here in India. Also a lot of good treatment and care are only available in the metros. Tier 2 cities like Panjim, Pune etc are simply forgotten. We fought for good care and support, and my mom completed 3 years in November and is stable. Sabrcare was started on June 2018 by 5 women, all of us are friends from school. We also have a personal experience with cancer, most of us you met today has a loved one at home fighting cancer. We started out by volunteering at our public hospitals, handholding patients and families with information and emotional support, providing financial support when required. . . We’ve assisted 26 children and their families through screening/diagnosis/treatment/recovery over the last 1 year. We hope to reach at least 100 more by 2020. ❤’ #sabrcaretrust #kidscancer #goa
