Home Actress Lisa Ray Instagram Photos and Posts – December 2019 Part 1 Lisa Ray Instagram - If you feel moved, please extend your support to this beautiful initiative. It’s so real, focused on the children (regardless of religious background I can’t help but add!) and authentic. Here’s the story of @sabrcare in Lourdes words- and may the Christmas spirit of peace, inclusivity, love and wholehearted generosity bless your life: . . ‘It all started when my mom was diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer in Nov 2016 and was given 6 months to live, our world started to crumble at the diagnosis. Being her primary caregiver, it exposed me to the chaotic and fragmented journey a person living with cancer has to go through here in India. Also a lot of good treatment and care are only available in the metros. Tier 2 cities like Panjim, Pune etc are simply forgotten. We fought for good care and support, and my mom completed 3 years in November and is stable. Sabrcare was started on June 2018 by 5 women, all of us are friends from school. We also have a personal experience with cancer, most of us you met today has a loved one at home fighting cancer. We started out by volunteering at our public hospitals, handholding patients and families with information and emotional support, providing financial support when required. . . We've assisted 26 children and their families through screening/diagnosis/treatment/recovery over the last 1 year. We hope to reach at least 100 more by 2020. ❤’ #sabrcaretrust #kidscancer #goa

Lisa Ray Instagram – ‘I don’t know if this message will reach you but we are a tiny kids cancer charity based in Goa.
We work with kids coming from families below the poverty line. Do you think you would be interested in meeting our kids? It would most definitely uplift their moods.’ .
This message came from Lourdes @sabrcaretrust. I shared my number for further details. . . ‘We have 26 kids currently at the Goa Medical College under treatment.
We are going to be having a Christmas party on 21 Dec // 11 am at Sangath (it’s an NGO in Porvorim). Wanted to check if you’d be available to meet our kids. Most of them may not be able to attend due to their treatment/side effects.

But it would be super nice to have you’

This morning turned into one of the best days of 2019 for me. In spending time with the children and their families, I was not serving them: THEY were serving me. I was delighted and humbled, saddened, uplifted and moved, restored to what is essential; the spirit of love, optimism and generosity reignited after days of feeling worn out by the protests in India.
