Lisa Ray Instagram – Mourning @subbu28 by sharing a moment of lightness during a #LakmeShoot with @farrokhchothia sometime in the late 90s. I worked with this incredibly talented makeup artist right at the beginning of his career, and as a natural introvert myself I was drawn to his gentle nature. In an industry of loud personalities and hyperbole, he was always the quiet, composed presence on set – yet poised for sudden spurts of hilarity. Enough cannot be written about his eye-kissing light touch with makeup, his pioneering professional attitude and his sweetness of being. I saw him at Mehboob studio a few weeks ago and we shared the warmest hug, for which I’m grateful. I cannot fathom this as a lost battle: Subbu touched so many of our lives and now he’s butterflying his way onwards. Love you, sweet friend. #butFuckCancer
