This day, last year… we were in New York at the hospital. Since then, the Bendre-Behls have identified two time periods – B.C. (Before Cancer) and A.C. (After Cancer). Lately, my motto has been to move on & keep trying new things, and detoxing and rejuvenating is on top of the list. So on the occasion of our 17th wedding anniversary, I thought let’s take a break and go on a road trip to @atmantan. Before Cancer, Goldie would have never agreed to something like this but I love how he’s changed 😄
He has put everything on standby and has been focusing so much on me… and now I’m turning the focus back on him.

The time has come to announce our next book for SBC! Inspired by #ChildrensDay, I thought we should explore the supernatural fantasy space, and what better than Neil Gaiman’s award-winning The Graveyard Book! It traces the story of the boy Nobody “Bod” Owens who is adopted and raised by the supernatural occupants of a graveyard after the murder of his family. I’m really looking forward to reading this, and I hope you do too.

My knight in shining armour! Panicked and stressed that I couldn’t make it to the Book Launch of #GirlPower yesterday by @neha_j_hiranandani due to a sudden bout of food poisoning, I was quite a mess. That was until my amazing, gallant husband offered to step in and take my place. He understands my love for books and reading and has always supported everything I’ve done with the @sonalisbookclub. He proved it was not just lip service with his selfless offer, jumping into the car and arriving at the venue and getting straight into the #SBCInConversationWith Neha and officially releasing the book. I officially have the best husband in the world!! Thank you so so much @goldiebehl! 😍♥️ Congratulations @neha_j_hiranandani on the launch of #GirlPower. It’s something I think all kids should read. I’m sure there are many more stories to be told, and I hope you come out with part 2 soon!

It’s the season of giving and I am thrilled that @sonalisbookclub has been able to make a meaningful contribution! Spent the day yesterday with the kids and team of @angelxpressfoundation at their Juhu Centre.
It was a big day for me because we inaugurated our first ever #SBCLilLibrary. It’s a small initiative but it’s something I really hope to grow. I truly believe that inculcating the habit of reading in children is of utmost importance… it opens up their imagination, giving them a chance to befriend characters and travel to far off lands… all with the turn of a page.
Reading also improves children’s vocabulary and also gives them a wider perspective of the world. I am so thankful to my SBC community for donating books to our mini library. A special mention of @neha_j_hiranandani who not only donated books but also connected us to @scholasticindia who supported our initiative by donating sooooo many books! I hope to start many more #SBCLilLibraries across the country and encourage kids to enter the magical world of reading 😁 so keep em’ coming!

They’re on the lookout for volunteers to teach Math and English at their centres. I have personally seen how receptive the children are and the difference these special classes have made to the children.
