Bio-fashion? Perhaps beyond even sustainability is the responsibility to remind ourselves of nature’s legacy every day. And then pay obeisance. Every waking moment. And I mean in your face reminders. Like, for instance, this landscape I’m wearing. Our mother is crying out for healing. See her. Acknowledge her munificence. Take action.

The perks of unpacking. Again and again. Memories are never entirely boxed up.
. ‘I won’t hide it: I’m so unused to being — well, understood, perhaps, — so unused to it, that in the very first minutes of our meeting I thought: this is a joke… But then… And there are things that are hard to talk about — you’ll rub off their marvelous pollen at the touch of a word… You are lovely…
[…]
Yes, I need you, my fairy-tale. Because you are the only person I can talk with about the shade of a cloud, about the song of a thought — and about how, when I went out to work today and looked a tall sunflower in the face, it smiled at me with all of its seeds.’

With things kinda sucky in the world at present (with bright spots – Hello, Delhi!) thought I’d do my bit and share these throwback images of the sisters known as Souffle.
Your welcome.

“I’m tired of people romanticizing overexertion. Exhausted is not the new chic, coffee (though a delicious necessity) is not a food group, and running on fumes is not admirable. Why do we hold pedestals for sleepless nights, breakdowns, and inner turmoil? Are those really things to aspire to? Self-care. Balance. The ability to know when your body, mind, and spirit need to take a step back. Those are things we should admire. We have to stop blurring the line between ‘commitment’ and self-endangerment because too many people are burning out before they have a chance to truly shine.” — opinion via @theartidote on the way we envision hard work and the way we should live life (via runningmandz.tumblr.com)

After years of flying solo, I have a bugaboo of co-Pilots.

Heartbreak and love in one frame. There is the frisson of embarking on married life with Jason, my one and only, but I have also been grieving for my beloved Wendell. I’m wearing his clothes in both these pictures. His garments are threaded through the narrative of my life, stories articulated by way of the fall of the fabric, the cut, the loving hand behind it all permeating significant moments in my life with faith: my Wendell had so much faith in me. And not just me. When Wendell pulled out his guitar and strummed ‘You’ve got a friend” the Gaonkar with his abiding love for his Goan village emerged. In this way, on evenings filled with music and intimate conversation, Wendell and Jerome helped many realise their worth and encouraged them to live their best life.
So I celebrate love in all its forms. I’ve written a tribute for my friend which will be soon shared.
Don’t forget to hold onto those you love tightly, and love audaciously, loudly and indiscriminately. Across genders and species. Everyday.
Voilà! Some fun behind the scenes photos of CG @AnnieFDube & moi and a Mountie 😍 which hopefully will make you want to listen to this conversation even more.

A life-altering, creative odyssey from the maestro AR Rahman and director Vishwesh Krishnamoorty, celebrating artists, dreamers and seekers. Thank you to the entire cast and crew of #99Songs for this magical ride. Special mention goes to @ehanbhat whose commitment and sincerity to his role is breath-taking.

Till we let ourselves be defined by our belief systems, we will be governed by our egoic self, leading to vitriol and bigotry. Reconciliation is the key; respecting disparate view points.
I also endorse non-symmetrical anarchy and I am vehemently against commodifying most things and often slyly slip ‘wise-eyed’ instead of ‘wide-eyed’ in conversation and NO ONE has taught me how to be a 47 year old so you probably shouldn’t believe anything I say, but this: keep space in your heart for radical compassion. Always.
Mixology and Hemingway had a love child, in case you didn’t know, and #TheOldMan might not be a cutie-pie but I’d belt out a tune for these cocktails ✌🏼 The Old Man Singapore
