Palapitta or Indian Roller bird (Coracias benghalensis) is the State Bird of Telangana ! hope this picture by @avigowariker makes u remember this forever.
It is also called Nilkanth in Hindi due to its blue colour & is worshipped during the Dussera season. Many birds are caught for this & die in captivity. ( check my insta story )
Almost every Hindu God has a Vahanam. My personal take is that – these animals were assigned to Gods hoping to be protected. I.e the mouse for Lord Ganesh , the tiger for Ayyappa Swamy , the Nandi for lord Shiva and many more. We as humans are supposed to protect them & not make them suffer. It’s absolutely unfair.

The calf looks adorable 😘 but he’s destroying our ecological balance because of OUR GREED.
Livestock is bred to be around humans & other animals are just meant to be wild.
Cattle grazing in forest lands is disastrous to our eco system.
Forest grass is meant for herbivores of the jungle. We must Maintain Boundaries ! Loads of farmers send their cattle to graze in the forests, which must stop.
I’m not against people living off livestock but I do encourage them to “consume consciously”. For example : Don’t buy chicken that’s unethically bred – it’s filled with hormones. I prefer natu kodi
Check the source of the meat, how it was raised – it takes a bit of effort but can make a huge difference to ur body & the planet.
As a start – Restrict meat & dairy to 3 times a week. Sounds tough for a lot of people but It’s worth a try !
