Roughly a month ago, a few hundreds of us got together (back in the time when public gatherings were a real thing) at @aiesec_india ‘s Youth Speak Forum, as part of a the #YouthForGlobalGoals campaign dedicated to achieving the @unitednations Sustainable Development Goals in order to dedicate a day, and hopefully a lifetime, to realising the palpable power of #CollectiveAction.
In India, we’re a 350 million + large youth population.
I spoke about some of the social work projects I’ve been pivoting over the last 6 years, my triumphs and challenges through them all, with the hope to give and get ideas.
We also went on to speak about mental, emotional and even personal challenges that many of the young students in the audience were going through.
Little could we have imagined, that just a few weeks from then, the world would be such a different place. Those ideas and conversations, seem entirely more relevant in this new present that we all have no choice but to embrace, and so if you’ve ever felt you want to ‘do something for society’ and not known how – DO your bit, however big & small.
The current ask, is a very simple one – it’s #SelfIsolation, that can your greatest contribution to collective action for greater social good.
But when this is over, we ought to use our slightly more fortunate present to do our bit, to help better someone’s tomorrow. And in that, let nobody, and nothing stop you. That ask maybe be slightly tougher than #SocialDistancing.
The only choice, none of us have, as a society is the choice to be complacent and not contribute to making this world a better place – and thus collectively contributing Sustainable Development Goals – which now, undeniably seem like a far far greater ordeal to achieve, but definitely not impossible, is our duty.
In times like these, we need it more than ever before. .

That first paycheck, graduation, college socials, that first love – all of it happens on this crazy dance floor we call time. It changes for no one & it’s waiting for you to dance! 💃🏻🕺🏻. So what you bring to it, should only be you. The thrill of the first time I heard action! The first time I put all my vulnerability in front of the camera, when I watched my mum & dad watch me on screen. All of those are moments, that are only mine!
I guess, it’s what I bring to time.
