I spent ten minutes staring at this picture commenting on everything that’s “wrong” with my face. Now that I’ve behaved like every person who criticizes themselves a little too much unnecessarily, I’m going to be changing that into “I have very distinctive features” and love myself a little bit more. Because I am FLAWSOME. ❤️ As are all of you okay? 🙂 Hair game en pointe thanks to my forever bae @appu_wayne 🤗❤️ @vurvesalon

What’s running through my mind?
So if I can touch the roof of my mouth with as much of my tongue as I can and breathe in and suck in my tummy and I am not looking too far down so I don’t get a double chin, and hold this pose for 2 seconds, I can actually look like this in a picture? Nice. I like.
It doesn’t matter. Be the “you” you love. 🙂 For @manjalcouture with an amazing team of women –

Been trying to put it in words for the last few days but then again I’ve found myself to sometimes be inarticulate at the most momentous of occasions. Lol.
Okay, here goes. I got a call from @blacksheeptamil , stating that I was nominated for Best Actress across OTT platforms at the #blacksheepdigitalawards2020 , alongside wonderful women and friends Abirami, Keerthi and Swayam. I was so pleasantly surprised and God damn happy that the hard work we all put in as a team for Kallachirippu, was noticed. The event happened on the 2nd of February, 2020. Receiving the award was such an honor. It was part of an evening I’ll never forget. The list of people to thank runs a mile long. So I will keep it short. @rohitsiview (who won #bestdirector for Kallachirippu btw), you are why I’m here. So thanks. My main team @thefilmtribe who made #kallachirippu possible. @stonebench_originals who encouraged us to do it. @zee5tamil who reached me to all you people. Thanks to all of you who have been constantly following me and my work very closely, pushing me to work harder at it.
@kuttikadhai, @akshayyesodharan.official @shalinivijayakumar_ and @hahahaharish my main. I don’t know what I’d have done without you guys. I love you for coming all the way.
#blacksheep , thank you so much for recognizing talent and hard work. Kudos to you guys for lifting people up and moving forward with everyone.
GUYS GUYS GUYS. @ikamalhaasan WAS THERE. I MEAN. I AM DEAD.
As were Bhagyaraj Sir, Barathiraja Sir, K.S.Ravikumar sir, and my love, my dream woman Neelambari, the QUEEN RAMYA KRISHNAN!
Amma and Appa, I feel like I’m going down the right path. So just bear with me for a little longer. Hehe. I love you both so much. 🙂 P.S.: 10000 cute points to my paati who came with me and was cheering me on from within a foot’s distance from wherever I was, ALWAYS.
P.P.S.: Thatha, I love you. I would’ve made you proud if you were here to watch it.

What do we do?
I wake up thinking “shit I slept an extra hour. I thought I’ll squeeze in the workout before 10 am. Now I have to do it in the evening. Oh but I’ll feel full after lunch and end up not doing it. I need to give the puppies a bath early afternoon. That’ll take up an hour and a half too..” my thoughts fade as I involuntarily reach for my phone, pick it up giving it little to no thought, open Instagram. I tap or swipe a countless number of times. Amidst all the “Corona Virus has-“;
“BJP’s scary agenda is-“;
“THIS IS THE TIME to speak up against the government-“;
“Muslims are doing this on purpose so that-“; and various other forms of hate, I also see “These are ten movies that you-“; “Here’s a puppy that’ll make your day-“; “If you want someone to talk to, I’m there-“. And that gives me hope. No, not the silly ignorant kind. I’m not saying I’d rather consume heart warming videos while being oblivious to what’s factual but I’d rather start my day thinking there’s still hope. Mind you, it’s an hour later and I’m still on my phone.
As we collectively deal with the anxiety, isolation, happiness, unity, sadness, the feeling of unproductivity that stems from the seed of someone else’s routine on their Instagram stories, let’s not forget that sometimes, you don’t have to always have it all together. You don’t even have to constantly keep trying. It is OKAY to lose it. It is OKAY to snap at your parents. It is OKAY to hate yourself for that brief amount of time but it is NOT OKAY to think that these feelings are what define you. It is NOT OKAY for you to bleed on everyone because one single person cut you. Be aware of it all. Or try to be.
After all, that’s what we’re all doing. Evolving. Collectively. Towards something we think, and hope, is the better future. Consume more information. Less news. If you call up that long lost friend, make amends not because you have to but because you want to.
As my mom hands me my cup of morning coffee and my dogs lay on my lap, I think of how I can draft this tiny little note so I am politically correct and don’t offend anybody because, God forbid – you don’t wanna be called out- (continued in comments)
Just me and my backbend.

Under popular demand. Resharing my story as a post.
There are days I wonder if I’m going in the right direction. I talk to people. I listen to people talk. Sometimes it helps and mostly, it has me doubting myself. On those days, my head is filled with messages in my DM that go like “ey vella Kaka..”; “attitude p*nda”; “North Indian dhaane nee unmaiya sollu”; “oh Brahmin fuck uh you are”; “wow you think you’re entitled to work?”;
etc… I think of all the “keep going”; “I love your work”; “Livin’ Season 2 yeppo?”; “Akka”; “I wish you act in a GVM movie soon” (idhu naane yosichirken.. aasa padalaam.. thappilla..) on my DM’s. I love you all for all the positivity. And I feel bad when I read those hate-messages. But. I’m learning to deal with it all in the most balanced way I can and make a decision that benefits me and the ones I care about (right now I’m at the top of that list 😬) #onedayatatime
If you’re having a tough day, here are two boop-able noses that will help you sail through.
Here’s a video of my mom discovering Zoom.
My mom’s also very good with the self depreciating jokes. “ivlo periya uruvam ukkaandhurkene deee”
Also this is kinda how their conversation went-
Aunty-1: “illa enaku naalu per dhaan pa theriyaraa”
Me to my mom: “Amma.. avaala Swipe panna sollu”
My mom: “eyy gallery la next photo paakardhuku swipe pandra maari left swipe pannu deeee Parimala (Aunty-2) appo dhaan Chitra (Aunty-3) theriyuvaaaaa”
Aunty-4: “en computer la ellaarum theriyareenga pa”
Aunty-5: “Saraswathi, un pethi yepdi irukaa?” Aunty-6:
“namma indha call mudikardhukulla thavazhara kozhandha nadandhurum polarke”

There aren’t too many products I recommend because I believe everyone’s skin is different and there’s no universal guide that fits everyone. The easiest way to find a good skin care routine that works for you is to keep it minimal, and as natural as possible. Consistency is key. 🙂 Stick to what works for you. Don’t be tempted to try out new products solely because of great advertisement or even a post like this one. I want to share with you guys what has worked for me, so that you could try it too! Since they’re all natural, there’s no harm in giving it a shot :). I’ve always repurchased many items on the @bottled_bliss page; their peppermint scrub being my most favorite of all. These are what I have on my basket this time.
The basket came with an adorable instruction manual (that tells you how to use their products based on your skin type) a hand towel, a much needed wooden spoon, and a loofah. 🙂

I adopted Shadow from BMAD. I know the kind of everyday struggles they go through and continue on to love, save and heal animals. Anything you can do to help, will make a huge difference to them. 🙂 Please spend five minutes of your time to make yourself more aware, and help in any way you can! Thank you.

“Most of you know that I help run a NGO called Besant Memorial Animal Dispensary (BMAD), which is part of The Theosophical Society, Chennai. In the last 3 years, we have grown from strength to strength and I can proudly say we have made a positive change towards the animal welfare scene in the city. We have helped rescue and rehabilitate thousands of animals and we have given our best to every single one. We are currently home to 200+ animals ranging from dogs to camels to monkeys and are a big family. It costs us anywhere between 5-6 lakhs rupees per month (about $8000) to run the show and apart from the running expenses, the funds raised would help us buy X-ray, biochemistry and ultrasound machines, build a quarantine unit, improve our infrastructure and most importantly build an 24/7 ICU unit. We have always been transparent in our work and all of this success is only because of your constant support. I’m sure you would help us reach our target and help us make Chennai the best city for our beloved strays!” – @shravkris
