Another awesome thing about female dominated sets like @4moreshotspls is how supportive everyone was when my babies came to visit. I could write a book on the challenges of being a working mom of twins and how badly we need a cultural shift in parenting and how we view mamahood…wait, maybe I will!
Thanks to all the fearless, fierce and beautifully flawed women on the set and off, who are just putting one foot in front of the other everyday, being unapologetically themselves. We can figure it out if we support each other…just like Dee, Siddhi, Maangs and Anjana.

SAMARA & UMANG – If you’ve seen the show already, you know how beautifully this scene pans out with these GORGEOUS outfits by Gaurav Gupta, and how beautifully the white pops at the end of the scene when the ladies are sitting on the bench. 😍
We decided to do an all white ensemble on both the bride’s for their bridal photo shoot, as we were doing colours and florals for the wedding!
Lisa’s outfit is actually a sheer net and embroidered bodysuit with a lehengha skirt. The design is such that it looks like a gown!
Bani’s is a structured blouse and a lehengha keeping in mind her character!
We kept both the ladies in very minimal diamond jewellery by @diosaparis which added the right sparkles in the most beautiful way!

So the only picture I could find of the splendid @iamkirtikulhari and me was when I punked her in Udaipur, as pushy ‘Auntie Lily’ a disgruntled guest of the hotel, irritated by the shooting and demanded a selfie in compensation. 🤣 (believe me, without makeup and hair in curlers, I was giving off those Auntie Lily vibes)

A painter and woman I deeply admire @dhruviacharya is producing a painting a day during lockdown in India. Half of the proceeds of these works – that both elevate and gouge out your insides – will go to supporting some of the most vulnerable in India affected by the pandemic. This gave me an opportunity to add her art to my collection while alleviating the feeling of powerlessness at easing the suffering in India when I’m in Singapore. While I’m not a strong advocate of full tilt productivity at any cost, it’s powerful to behold an artist giving expressive form to many of our inner anxieties and feelings through this time. It also serves as a chronicle of our inner universe so we can, hopefully soon, perhaps already, begin the work of reclamation and healing.

I read a piece recently with a quote by theatre director Nicholas Berger about the existential irony confronting artists during this time, but how ultimately, ‘when the world rebounds and we push our heads out from the rubble we will seek each other out with a renewed sense of gratitude.’
