For Ram Navami special I made this Andhra style raw mango chutney which is my mom’s secret recipe.. I’m going to share with u all now(she will hate me for this!😛😀)
.
Iv been planning dishes which are super easy, tasty, that require limited ingredients and which can stay fresh for a few days (when refrigerated)
.
Recipe:
To fry in a small pan with 2 spoons of coconut oil for 2 mins – 1 tea spoon each of mustard seeds, jeera, methi seeds, urad dal, Asafoetida (half tea spoon), turmeric.
.
To blend in mixie: *One whole raw mango (cut to small pieces)
*The pan fried spices (listed above)
*4 long green chillies (cut in half)
*1 teaspoon of fresh grated coconut (or coconut powder)
*1 tea spoon of jaggery
* Just a little water to blend (for normal chutney consistency)
* Salt

And yummy mango chutney is ready! 🤟😋
For a crispier taste can temper the chutney with mustard and Curry leaves (fried in coconut oil or any other)

On a personal note the honourable PM’s candle lighting gesture on the 5th of April comes as a complete surprise from the leader of the nation where instead medical guidelines and proper awareness about the virus was expected at these confusing times and dire situations. .

The previous time we were asked to make noise to encourage the police and medical personnel, a lot of unpleasant incidents occured due to mis- interpretation where metal/ asbestos sheets were pulled down from houses/ construction sites and beaten to create sound – believing the sound makes Corona virus to go away!

Now athough it’s upto each of us to light the candle or not, let’s be sensible about it and not cause fire incidents or disrupt surroundings by lighting fire crackers🙏
