Being in the ‘now’ – “Resilience is accepting your new reality, even if it’s less good than the one you had before. You can fight it, you can do nothing but scream about what you’ve lost, or you can accept that and try to put together something that’s good.” Elizabeth Edwards

Came across this filter and found the symbolism interesting.. Myth: there was once a giant school made up of thousands of koi fish swimming up the Yellow River. As they swam, they gained strength by pushing against the current. However, on the Yellow River, there is a waterfall. Once the fish reached the waterfall, most turned back and just went with the current because it became too hard.
The ones who remained continued to try to reach the top of the waterfall. These koi kept trying for 100 years. At last, one koi successfully leaped to the top of the waterfall. To reward this dedicated koi, the gods turned it into a beautiful golden dragon.
The falls have become known as the “Dragon’s Gate.” And legend has it that to this day, any koi that has the strength and perseverance to complete the journey up Dragon’s Gate will become a heavenly dragon.

Hope.
Against all odds.
Currently, a word I constantly use, helps make this tough present situation more bearable, it helps me improve my thought process when it whirlwinds into uncertainty, it eventually improves my thoughts to envisioning a better future.. #hope #againstallodds #lifeofanartist #aswathimenon

Grateful.
Appreciate the moment.
I am ‘Grateful’ – My go to word when I need to initiate my energies of positivity and disconnect from negativity specially during these uncertain times… #grateful #appreciatethemoment #lifeofanartist #aswathimenon
Be Kind.
See the good.
It always is never apparent on the outside the struggles one faces on the inside. It really is important how we treat ourselves and each other.

The purest love I will ever know. Blessed.

Fish in general symbolize wealth and surplus, and Koi particularly represent good fortune.
My Mamas favorite flower, the Gulmohar flower, how beautiful the symbolism.. The Gulmohar flower – ‘She announces the monsoon in wait, her colors are a harbinger of good times to come, a respite from heat, a relief from drought, her bright colors symbolize life and the vibrancy it promises. Akin to bright vermillon and its sacred purpose, she has a reason of her own to live and thrive’. (excerpt from Corita Kent)

For both my Mama and I the Gulmohar flowers are… ‘One of most beautiful sights and smells of this season is the gentle drizzle of rain, dampened earth and the wet petals of Gulmohar flowers strewn on the asphalt road. Midst the gray weather and grey asphalt lie hundreds of scarlet lives. They not only seem alive but brings everything around to life’. (excerpt from Corita Kent)

Buddhists see koi as representations of courage.
Together in a Koi pond, they represent love and friendship, prosperity and wealth.
