Forever daydreaming about whatever book I’ve got my nose in 🤓📚 What was your favorite book you read this year? Only 4 more days left of FALL 🍁 ?! The only thing that makes my favorite sweater season ending okay is that Christmas is also almost here. I just want to curl up in all of my cozy sweaters and go look at all the pretty trees 😍 I especially love this baby tree! It’s leaves are shaped like silver dollar eucalyptus leaves but in the prettiest of fall colors. I may or may not have hugged it. No shame. . . . . 📸 cred: the overly talented @thejohannabraddy and @shopthemint for the coziest fall color sweaters. #shopthemint You’re welcome!
Probably laughing at my own joke failing miserably. COMMENT below with your best joke! Thank goodness I’m an actress and other people write the jokes for me… not my strong suit guys. I also don’t get jokes right away… but put on some @failarmy or @afvofficial and I’ll end up on the floor like this pic. Am I an awful person for only really laughing at other people getting hurt or scared 🙈? Anyone else? The only correct answer is no btw. Right…?! Let me distract you with another pic from the @uniquevintage @maiseltv shoot!
One last fun way to give back for those of you who are interested and still looking: homeless care kits! It always breaks my heart to drive by the homeless but it breaks my heart even more during the holidays. This time of year the 99 cent store has fantastic warm weather essentials that could save a life of someone who is spending the night on the street. These are just a few little things to help them survive a little more comfortably until they transition out of homelessness AND hopefully give them a little joy that they’re receiving a little present 🎁 Here are my favorite items I found this year: ♡ $4 fluffy fleece blankets (such a steal!) ♡ Extra warm fluffy grip socks ♡ A touque/beanie ♡ $2 Winter Underwear T-Shirts! ♡ Bath Wipes! (since they don’t have access to showers these large wipes can help them not only to feel clean but to clean up for potential job interviews) ♡ Rain Ponchos! ♡ an umbrella ♡ Tear-proof Work Gloves (I was so excited to find these to not only keep their hands warm but also protected if they are sorting through recycling) ♡ Wet Wipes ♡ Femenine Products (extremely needed, not often thought of) ♡ Kleenex ♡ Band-Aids ♡ Snacks & waterbottles ♡ Toothbrush & toothpaste ♡ A backpack to keep it all in (yes, they sometimes they have backpacks at the 99!) I know I sound like a real life ad for the 99 haha but I am in no way sponsored/gifted/or promoted by them… I’m just there way too much and I love that I can get a lot for my money and in turn give more back.

Where’s Daniela? Wherever the books are. (almost always the right answer) ⠀ ⠀ So to do a little #behindthephoto #instagramvsreality , shortly after taking this photo I had to leave the wonderful last bookstore because it was too much for me. I don’t know if you can tell, but I see it in my face in this pic. I’m an HSP aka highly sensitive person which means my senses are more heightened than other people’s might be. I see, hear, smell and taste EVERYTHING. No joke I taste what I smell which can be amazing or horrific, I can’t walk through a store without reading/scanning/memorizing each isle and I feel mine and other people’s emotions intensely. Which has been great for acting but not the easiest to manage IRL. I highly recommend the HSP Ted talk if you’re interested/think you might be an HSP. ⠀ ⠀ Anywho. Too many people, too many smells (dtla…), too many sounds for me to handle at the same time since my brain insisted on reading every single book title in sight… not a good recipe for what I thought was going to be my dream store… I’m more of a quiet bookstore or library type girl. ⠀ ⠀ Are you or anyone you know an HSP? It’s a superpower that can be amazing once you learn to care for it 🦸🏻♀️
Trees in fall, a lake, plaid and an adventure buddy doggo = smiles for days ☺️🌲🍂 What has made you smile lately, friends?
20 years ago today my parents and I immigrated from Mexico to Vancouver. ⠀ ⠀ A year earlier my parents had visited Vancouver for only 48hrs before they both felt like that is where they wanted me to grow up. They applied the day they got back to Mexico. They sold our house, their business and a short twelve months later our closest friends and family woke up before the sun to see us off. I get a lump in my throat whenever I see the second picture. How were my parents so brave? What was going through their mind in this picture? How gracious were our friends and family to be losing us yet they showed up in support? And could my parents have imagined that 10 years after this picture was taken they would be the ones sending me off to immigrate to the US for the next decade of my life?⠀ ⠀ I was only 6 years old in this picture and apparently I didn’t really understand how far we were moving – I thought Canada was a restaurant that was advertised “more than McDonald’s!” ⠀ ⠀ My parents sacrifice was not easy. They started over from scratch in a new country barely knowing language! We took classes the entire year before we left but the first year was really our crash course. Boy did the sacrifice pay off. I had the most amazing childhood in Canada and now parents have a huge friend family in Vancouver and their business is booming… even so, we miss Mexico with our entire hearts and try to go back as often as possible to see family. ⠀ ⠀ Thank you Mami & papi for your courage and sacrifice. I wouldn’t be where I am if you hadn’t been brave. I got my wings from you.

Had way too much fun with @kenzieherz and her cutest little fam a couple of weekends ago. Thanks again for having us and showing us around the Lake 🤗🌲❤️ and for introducing me to Baby Shark.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING FRIENDS!!! What are you grateful for? I am most grateful for all of my friends and family. Even though I’m an introvert, life would have no color without my people ❤️ This picture (and the following ones) are very special to me and have a lot of meaning. My parents and I immigrated to Vancouver, Canada when I was 7 where I was promptly introduced to the concept of Thanksgiving. (Yes, Canada has thanksgivinf.) I don’t know how, but my parents were quickly blessed with a new group of friends that are still their friends to this day – 20 years later! They became my 2nd family and the people we would celebrate the strange holiday they called Thanksgiving. Because of them, I grew up with a deep longing for a friend family. Fast forward to moving to LA on my own, the longing only got stronger and way harder to find. LA can be a really lonely place. My first year, I binged @nbcparenthood and the Bravermans were my substitute big family. Hence the new addition to the dream: having a big friend family dinner on a long wooden table under twinkle lights. If you know, you know. Parenthood fans raise a hand 🙋🏻♀️ This is my still-in-progress version of that 😋 life hack tip since you’ve read this far: I don’t YET have the wooden table… thats two foldable tables covered in “wooden” bulletin board teacher paper 🙈 gotta start somewhere right? Long story short. I am so grateful that after almost 10 years here in LA I finally feel like I have found / been found by a friend group of my own that feels like family.

I know it’s snowing already in some places but LA is just now finally starting to conform to the colder weather which means… I finally got to @mariekondo my shoe rack and switch it to Winter/Fall!!! Out with the sandals and wedges and in with ALL 🙌🏻 THE 🙌🏻 BOOTS 🙌🏻 aka all the joy!⠀ ⠀ Yes, I might have a slight shoe addiction. But you’ve seen worse right? In my defense, some of these boots have been with me since high school… I just take really good care of my boots, it’s the Pacific Northwest girl in me. ⠀ ⠀ Do you have any collections? I collect boots, art supplies, board games and books 🤓
