Lisa Ray Instagram – Via my friend @priyankaraja The network is restoring now, and I woke up to a large number of worried messages and emails from friends and well wishers all over the world, asking if we’re ok post the cyclone.
We are all ok now, so are our parents, families and our co-workers. But the night before was one of the scariest I have faced.
We live on the 22nd floor of a high-rise building with no obstructions facing us from all sides. While normally it’s a treasured ‘view’ it was incredibly frightening all evening when the cyclone Amphan showed us what nature’s fury can look like.
Cannot even imagine what the state of the homeless must have been, or the millions with semi permanent homes or every other area the cyclone would have ravaged. The plant and animal life too. Needs immediate attention and major government support. I hope my friends in the media from my list can please take note and use their voice to bring attention to this. We don’t watch TV, but seems like there’s little about this major calamity being reported out there. | Posted on 22/May/2020 10:11:01
