He played the opposing lawyer in a courtroom scene, and even in this small role he was impossible to ignore. ‘Well done’ he told me afterwards. He had removed his lawyer’s robe and walked with an even more dignified authority, though he was a struggling actor in those days.
He’s a once in a generation artist who set new standards in cinema in India and aboard. I feel irredeemably grief stricken, but in the end we need to celebrate what he illuminated for us on screen through his humane performances. I read that when he embarked on treatment for cancer he asked life to embrace him with the fervour of the lyrics of one of his favourite songs: ‘Lag jaa gale ki phir yeh haseen raat ho na ho, shayad phir is janam mein, mulakat ho na ho’

I watched #TheNamesake yesterday evening and I’ve been up all night, weeping. Shattered. So tender. So full of pathos. Both Irrfan’s and Tabu’s portrayal of a Bengali Immigrant couple were pitch perfect. I saw not only my father in them, but today, perhaps traces of myself. The film has a very different resonance at this point of my life, and that’s the sign of a classic: it will make the journey with you to a place where there’s no where left to go @MiraPagliNair

So we went with this excuisite @ridhimehraofficial draped sari. It’s a printed ruffled sari, with an attached belt to shape the waist. The long sleeve blouse, instantly ads the right amount of grace to the outfit. The entire saree is extremely light in weight and printed all over, with the right amounts of embroidery in different coloured stones to break the monotony of the all over print. Poker straight hair, and a lip colour as dark as the darkest maroon really went along with the look to elevate it.
And oh my, she looked GORGEOUS (@bhavyaarora)
In terms of jewellery we went with a solid choker and a layered long necklace (by @purabpaschim ) to achieve our final look!
