In 2008 when making movies about HIV & LGBTQ was taboo Irrfan Khan had the vision to always take up challenging roles without hesitation. I was in awe of his clarity and remember asking him on set how I could have the strength to do the same. And he said ‘ a true actor can never judge or be judged by a character he plays ‘. And that in my opinion is what set him apart from the rest. He made a his mark internationally and played the most interesting roles an actor could only have dreamed of, creating a niche of his own and that was commendable. He has been taken too soon but has left us with an everlasting impression of his art and for that I am grateful.
