Unspeakable grief. Another legend passes away. I had the opportunity of working briefly with Rishi sir in ‘Aurangzeb’ (2013) and what a personality he had!! A great actor, he was as engaging a ranconteur.. Having him on set meant entertainment and engaging conversations were guaranteed. From the boyish charm of Bobby and Amar Akbar Anthony to the grumpy old men of 102 Not Out and Kapoor and Sons- what range!!!! This is the end of an era 💔💔💔😢😢😢

So I was walking my dog #Godot in the building garden/ parking area and he was sniffing what I thought was garbage but turned out to be A BABY KITE!!!!! A friggin’ bird of prey!!! The guard said it has fallen out 3-4 days ago! It’s mother had not come and was nowhere to be seen- one didn’t know where the nest was! Anyway I brought him/her home.. Spoken to a Wildlife Rescue NGO.. in the meantime named him CHANGEZ after Genghis Khan- he will rule the skies of Mumbai 🤣🤣🤣🤣 come watch me and @vikaesh5 give Changez lunch!!

#gratitudepost Acts of random, unexpected kindness are the most life affirming experiences one can have. My birthday on 9th April marked 94 days to the WHO being informed about #coronavirus and since #india is in lockdown I was home bound. I’m alone (+ 3 cats + 1 dog + 1 @vikaesh5 ) and family is in Delhi. The bell rang twice that morning and my building neighbors gave me the most beautiful surprise.. The most generous and thoughtful @makeupbyneetuahluwalia ji (who has made the most amazing Rajma and given me earlier) had baked the most yum #Eggless #coffeechocolate mousse.. which I devoured! My other building neighbour @sairaawasthi who is the kindest person I’ve met in recent times baked me the most delicious #eggless cake dripping the goodness of nuts and raisins.. That has also been enthusiastically consumed! Thank you SO much Saira and Neetu ji.. I cannot even begin to express how touched I am by your wonderfully sweet gestures. You made my #lockdownbirthday so special. Thank u both from the very bottom of my heart. And my BFF @sinj_m baked a gorgeous looking cake all the way in NJ, USA for our virtual Zoom bday party and ate it and assured us all it was great!!!! So crushed to be posting this today! #RIP little #HukumSingh my precious baby! 😢😢😢 On 22nd April ‘20 at nearly midnight, some neighbors from my building including @sairaawasthi found an abandoned infant kitten meowing in our complex garden & called me. I took a look at the little fellow- perhaps 10 days old and realised it would need to be dropper fed. No one else felt confident to take him home and that’s how the little kitten came to my house and into my life. Suddenly my yawning lockdown days had a purpose- caring for little Hukki.. and making sure my other four larger pets didn’t inadvertently harm him.
He was the littlest most loveable thing! On 29th April he had his first seizure. And after that every few days he would have a seizure. Vets were not sure and couldn’t diagnose the problem exactly- epilepsy or a head injury or worms or a malfunctioning liver? He was too small to run any significant tests.. We managed the best we could, making multiple trips to the vet clinics. All the vets I reached out to were kind and responsive; and I’m so grateful for them. 💜🙏🏽
My little #Hukki was tiny but fierce – a fiesty minuscule warrior. There were good days and bad. On Wednesday 13th May he was active and drinking his kitten milk enthusiastically. 24 hours later he was sluggish and seemed to be lethargic. I gave him some ORS and at night held him close. He seemed to revive. I assumed he would make it through the night.. like he had previously. I returned him to his blanketed basket. An hour later i heard strange sounds and found him in convulsions.. I rushed down to fetch an SOS medicine and two min later when I came back.. he was gone! 😢
Goodbye #Hukki I wish we could have saved you! I wish I could have done more. I will always cherish your snuggles and your gentle purring.. my precious baby!
