The end.

Climbing walls much?
Fortunately I’ve discovered @pureyogasingapore FREE yoga classes
All traditions (hatha, yin, vinyasa, Iyengar, immunity boosting practises) with excellent teachers- I used to practise at the studio before the circuit breaker. Anyone can jump on their IGTV and reap the benefits. I think it’s really essential to offer up healing practises gratis right now. I’m also getting a lot from @soundstrue as they’ve created a digital Care Package of meditations and talks with wonderful teachers sharing techniques to manage stress and fear. Look up #DharmaRainMumbai for workshops and live talks. @vanajourney is also offering free classes in Qi Gong, yoga, cooking for immunity and haunting Raagas that elevate the spirit. You can register for free meditations with one of my favourite teachers @mishtickle on @tangerineartsstudio that’s also got Zumba and yoga on offer on their Instagram page. @thedivayoga has an awesome variety of classes too ✌🏼on their handle.
I think offerings that are available to everyone are precious statements in and of themselves. Just as with everything else in the world, the corporatization of ancient practises is disturbing. A billion dollar industry has grown around ‘yoga’ and ‘wellness’. Charging people for what is a sacred practise during these times, should make you question who you wish to follow and learn from. The exploitation has been laid bare. It’s up to you to decide now who is a worthy teacher. Buddha encouraged questioning the teacher, examining their worth and motives before surrendering to their teachings.
Feel free to share any other online classes you find helpful during this time in the comments below.

Seekers there are in plenty: but they are almost all seekers of personal advantage. I find so few seekers of truth – Hakim Jami
My heart’s been full of stormy weather and the relentless crash of peoples lives breaking on the rocks.
Then I did my first Sufi whirling session with Danseuse @realmsofdance today.
The world is the same but I’ve found my centre again.
Whatever it takes to ‘rest in natural peace your exhausted mind’ do that. And do it again. And then bubble over from that place.
Oh yah, and stay safe Mumbai. Hold tight while the cyclone blows by (and please universe, can we here a break from natural disasters- I for one have gotten the message)

Time to turn toward ourselves with a kind embrace.
The last few months have been a time of radical groundlessness and deep disturbance. In these times, there’s a tendency to get caught up with panic and worry storylines which are futile in times of uncertainty- Pema Chodron talks about embodied practise as an antidote. To calm the disturbing emotions and churning, tune into your body. What are you feeling in this moment? Where is the anxiety in your body? It is a hot ball in your stomach? A tightness in your chest? Getting curious with these sensations will help lead your mind away from the storyline. Where you place your attention is where your thoughts will run.
I’ve also been tuning into my breath. Sometimes a few minutes of deep, conscious breathing – a count of 4 in, hold for 4, then 4 out- will help calm both your nervous system and your mind.
I’ve been listening to podcasts by @soundstrue and @onbeing doing daily mediations with @nithyashanti on his #Rigpacourse
Conversations with friends led me back to some incredible meditation teachers like @thichnhathanhsangha @jack_kornfield @sharonsalzberg @pemachodron and @tarabrach and has me revisiting their books like #RadicalAcceptance and #WhenThingsFallApart
What sort of circuit breakers do you need in your head (as one friend put it)
Really there’s no single way to gather yourself and heal during this time, but whatever path your chose, do it with self compassion ❤️
This is the right time to revisit #PhoenixRising one of my favourite collaborations. This sari and Choli were conceptualised and designed to evoke the old rising from the ashes myth, which really isn’t a myth but a very human skill which is called upon again and agin. Enjoyed working with @Satyapaul on creating this capsule line and of course it has special resonance today.
Follow your ‘highest excitement’. It’s the basic organising principle of the world. Without fail follow your highest excitement and everything will fall into place. That and constant change are your friends – #ClosetotheBone
It’s been a year since I embarked on a pan-India tour for the launch of #ClosetotheBone and in these contradictory, tumultuous times I feel the resonant power of story-telling like a wave, flowing with a coherence from then to now.
What do we have, but our stories?
Deep gratitude.

Repost from @rebeccasuhrawardi using @RepostRegramApp – These are Miami Police. When the protestors came they took a knee, and it’s exactly here where peace should begin. Why? Because it’s acknowledgment from the powers that be that there is a problem, and acknowledging the system’s role in it. It acknowledges that the problem doesn’t wholly originate from protestors or petty criminals. And what any human wants when they are being marginalized, hurt, oppressed or generally wronged is to be heard and acknowledged. To hear, from authority, or from an opposing party, “Yes, you are right, there is a problem. And we hear you.” And until oppressed people begin to hear and feel acknowledgment, uprise will always surface. People will always fight. Revolutions will always arise. This is history, this is life. Acknowledgment is the start of a solution. And right now, our leadership refuses to acknowledge there’s a problem with the system, and without it, how can we find solutions? Miami still got effed up from protests, but damn, at least the cops are thinking, and it gives me hope 👊 I’m proud of these officers. #miamiprotests #miamipolice
Time to turn towards others with a kind embrace (this is pre-social distancing: the embrace is symbolic)
Sigh. Can’t wait to hug again.

Repost from @nobelprize_org using @RepostRegramApp – Bicycles are not a common tool in economic science, but Amartya Sen’s bicycle played a role in his research.
A large part of his work is concerned with the conditions of the most impoverished members of society and how these can be improved. In a study on differences between baby girls and boys, he employed an assistant to weigh the children. Problems arose when the children did not want to weighed and bit the assistant. The episode ended with Sen bicycling through the countryside of West Bengal, weighing the children himself.
Amartya Sen was awarded the Prize in Economic Sciences in 1998 for his studies of social choice, welfare measurement and poverty research.

Such a profound talent and voice. Thanks for this homage to #Water. I needed this today.
Repost from @instabarbierajput using @RepostRegramApp – From the movie Water, this song is in राग बतियार. One of the very complex Rāgas. I was never taught this particular one but they say it creates an atmosphere of anxiety and restiveness. This melody is hauntingly beautiful. Magically sung by Sadhna Sargam and Music by Mr.Rahman 💫
Also, this movie should be watched by everyone, once 💛
Repost from @forestlight using @RepostRegramApp – ( Love in a Covid Ward ) …. somehow the best stories happen , not under the strobe lights, but in the shadow of big plans….It is in the wings of the main shoot, I saw this doctor couple just helping each other dress up.
He, pulling the floppy, ill-fitting PPE suit – to get it over her shoes… and she, reaching out to tuck his hair inside the elastic of the hood ….
It wasn’t a very dramatic gesture, but like a tiny leak in a turgid situation, it was disruptive of the overhanging sense of caution in the air. And it offered a glimpse to something, which is truly heroic – Love…
In the middle of this global crises of historical propotions… unfazed, understated – gently unfolding …unmindful of its being a shining example of the human spirit.
Dr Ishan Rohatgi and Dr Rashmi Mishra got married last year – just 4 months before the corona outbreak…they are working in the covid ward of LNJP since March …. Read the full story on facebook:
