Cole has this great relaxed, focused presence on set while somehow bringing a spontaneous energy to what he puts onscreen. His lighting and his camera are such exciting storytellers and performers that I find myself setting the stage and then stepping back to enjoy the interplay of him navigating the scene alongside our cast. I think shooting on film gave us the most beautiful but raw way to capture those discoveries on set. Not totally sure how to put it into words but it feels like film created the least separation between the story and the audience.

There’s a timeless feeling in the emulsion as well as an on-set vitality that shooting on film creates, both of which really worked well with our teen werewolves!”
