I used to love wearing my Mother’s sarees as a child and play.
Mom kept a few sarees for me to wear lest i got to the ‘good’ ones and destroyed them! I’d tie a knot in the first wrap and then fold pleats, wrap the pallo around my waist and play different parts. Some days i’d be a teacher, some days a lawyer, some days a labourer… imagining a classroom full of children, a court case or a construction site. Im told i would be every part as i spent hours alone keeping myself entertained!
Much later when i started doing acting workshops I discovered this to be an integral part of workshops! Imagining, creating and responding to imaginary circumstances and people. What FUN!

Safe Passage for Elephants, Safe Habitation for Humans: A happy story to share on #WorldElephantDay for people and elephants thanks to @wildlifetrustofindia and its partners working with the #Kerala Forest Department. When a stakeholder survey conducted by WTI found that people living with elephants in conflict in the Thirunelli Kudrakote corridor wished to move out, they initiated a process of community engagement for voluntary relocation. Four villages in the elephant corridor were relocated to new and better houses and the land handed over to the forest department. Livelihood options, government facilities and a better quality of life awaited the community that made way for elephants. The relocation process that started in 2005 ended in 2011 but even as the old village homes were demolished, WTI and the Kerala Forest Department teams recorded elephants returning to the land that was once theirs. A gazette notification in 2015 brought this corridor under legal protection. Today elephants and tigers share this corridor with several other species and this model is a success story worth emulating in other landscapes. India has #101corridors where elephants need #RightOfPassage. #JoinOurHerd and follow @wildlifetrustofindia for more stories of other corridors they have secured and some in process.

Nav and Vihaan are doing their part to promote positive change in the world, the brothers co-founded One Step Greener (@onestep_greener), an NGO which strives for a zero-waste future and aims to combat pollution by working on waste management, recycling and tree planting.
They have been educating people on the harm that waste causes by the way it is disposed of, in order to create lasting change. Their mission is to support a zero-waste lifestyle and work toward the reduction of carbon emissions.
These young citizens of India are bringing change by becoming a part of the solution with personal action 🇮🇳💚🌳🌏

My favourite Cricket World Cup Memory is remembering the way I felt right after Yuvraj Singh hit his 2nd six in the T20 World Cup on September 19th, 2007. 🏏 It was a mix of anticipation and nervous energy. After the third I thought to myself, this isn’t possible and then the fourth came. I think I could feel the entire country’s joy and excitement on my skin which was dotted with thousands of goosebumps. By the time he hit his sixth, I think I might have been dancing!

Tiger forests provide us tangible and intangible social, environmental and economic benefits. 🌳
Tiger Forests regulate Climate, sequester carbon, provide fresh water and air, control soil erosion, contribute to tourism and employment. 🌏
Our lives, well being, peace, prosperity is linked to the Tiger.
As an ‘umbrella species’, the conservation of tigers is integral to their entire ecosystem – one that millions of human lives depend on as well.
There would be no conservation without the unsung frontline heroes who risk their lives to protect our forests and its inhabitants. I salute all the forest guards/rangers, our green soldiers, our #VanRakshaks 🐯🙏🏻
Let’s take the time today, on International Tiger Day to understand the world around us a little bit better and do our part to make a difference.🐯
