Social Welfare officials, Childline and the Police have rescued atleast 70 Minors who were found locked up at a private mill in Avinashi, Tirupur!

The private mill owner had made arrangements with the families of these minors ( from Thiruvannamalai, Krishnagiri, Thiruvallur and Villupuram districts) to work for him for a monthly salary of Rs.5000.
.
Atleast 40 of them were unwilling to work at the mill and wanted to persue higher studies. Few had even just written their Plus 2 exams.
Cases will be filed against the mill owner and employers. while the minors are currently at social welfare homes.

It’s so disheartening to see parents resorting to such inhumane acts just to make ends meet!

Aarthi is a BCA final year student in Chennai who suffers from WILSON disease.
Wilson disease is a rare inherited disorder that causes excessive amounts Copper to accumulate in the liver, brain and other vital organs.
Aarthi started getting her first symptoms while in high school and has suffered ever since. Finally a liver transplant was done in 2016.
But she still suffers from the after affects of the transplant where she needs to undergo extensive multiple surgeries and ongoing medications.
Her father Venkatesan is an auto driver who has been struggling to pay for her medical bills and now seeks help for his daughter’s surgeries which amounts to few lakhs.
