@johnniestarkcosplay asks if a piece of my costume ever got forgotten and I arrived in front of the camera with a piece missing. The answer is that couldn’t really happen since each piece rests on the piece below it. A slight issue did happen early on. Not missing, but something in the wrong place. I am so happy that brilliant-as-ever Gentle Giant are bringing out a new design for my golden counterpart. Yet more sadness this year. Roger Carel has died. A much-loved and respected actor, he re-voiced my words in the French versions of Episodes I – VI. His gentlemanly manner allowed him to characterise the droid exactly how he would have sounded in French. I once had the joy of appearing with him on stage. I played 3PO in imperfect French.
