Finished our shoot yesterday at 8am. Such an amazing 2 days with a group of incredibly talented and kind artists. From my Cast, Producers, DP, Gaffer, Camera team, G&E, Art, Sound, Makeup, Costume Designer, AD, PAs, crafty, and BTS team… I couldn’t have asked for a better film family! The greatest gift you can get as a director is to feel completely supported and trusted by your cast/crew – and that’s what they did for me. I’m leaving ST. Louis REALLY close to a locked cut. Waiting for a little more feedback and then we lock. @lucasjharger did a killer job again! BALLiSTIC was our first project together, but since then he has become one of my closest collaborators and friends. (Also feeling really spoiled by his new editing suite.) Really happy with how this one is turning out. Can’t wait to release it on Oct 28th! #therecomesaknocking

Been using this beast for over a week now. Currently editing on this @SamsungNotebook while I render on my desktop PC… Jumping back and forth, working two projects at the same time! 🙂 Craziest thing so far is that the Notebook Odyssey has actually performed better a few times than my beefed up desktop. Big thanks to @SamsungNotebook for sending over the #NotebookOdyssey. And keep in mind, Black Friday is coming up. BTS vs Final. My favorite scene in the film. Again attempting to tell a lot with very little. I’m constantly experimenting with saying a thing without ever actually saying it. Everything before this moment was constructed so that it would all become a clear picture here. Of course the key to this was getting the perfect performance that would tie it all together… And @stefbutler52 absolutely nailed it. She tells the viewer everything they need to know without saying a word. She is truly an incredible artist! Another major factor was @h2daniel’s score. He waits to bring in that soft piano until the moment we realize what’s happening – when the voicemail from the friend delivers “I heard about John” – (which was the voice of @hannahlward, by the way). #therecomesaknocking 🚪
