#BareBeauty #GetTheGlow
One of the upsides of this lockdown for me has definitely been that my skin (unlike us all) gets to take a vacay and go absolutely bare.
Since I often get messages asking me about what I do for my skin, I thought I’d share some of my at-home rituals with you all.
And yes, I like to make a ritual out of it because it’s fun to play around with different combinations of products and tools and helps to tick that self-care box when it comes to the Ayurvedic concept of Dincharya. I don’t obviously have the entire day to keep preening over myself, but a few minutes every evening (Peppa to the rescue) to look after oneself is essential to look and feel sane.
Today was quite simple. I used a Fruit Scrub from Forest Essentials after I finished my evening workout to cleanse my skin. I don’t always use abrasive products on my skin but I just ordered this so had to try it out. Followed it up with a Brightening Emulsion and used my Purearth Kwansa coin to really work it into my skin. Then I massaged it with a technique that doesn’t quite have a name because it’s bits and bobs of what I’ve picked up from videos I’ve seen. Whatever method you use, always remember to drain the lymph. Adding a face massage to my skin care routine has been a game changer.
A shower and my customised Forest Essentials cream later, this is where I’m at!
Let me know what you guys think 💆🏻♀️

If its pre-corona and pre-baby can it be considered vintage? 👗
Quarantine Birthday 🎂
My kids’ birthdays are ten days apart and I had this dreamy idea when my son was born, that I’d combine their parties for as long as Khoi bags are interesting, and save myself the stress and planning that goes into kiddie parties. Because really, the unnecessary bar has been set quite high by too many, and some of them can be as tedious as weddings.
And when better to economise on stress than during this time. Missy however had another plan in mind and complained to Papa that she wants a birthday of her own and doesn’t want to share her special day.. We caved and melted.
For Misha, nothing tops Peppa. But instead of a full blown Peppa Fest, we made it kind of a technicolour carnival with bits of the lovable piggy. The decorations were all made by us and the fam (the DIY ones you get online) while watching some Netflix, as well as some I saved from her first birthday. The backdrop was a hand-me-down from my neice’s Peppa fiesta and cute printables brought the whole theme together from @studio_psd @printsolutionsdesign.
It was so much fun, with musical chairs, a treasure hunt of weird Peppa erasers hidden all over in the garden, tug of war (Us vs the kids: no guesses on who won) and the good old Khoi bag. The menu must-have on my list was wafers and fruity along with the good ol’ party favourites that were pizza, noodles, Nutella sandwiches and jelly.
It was all sorts of warm, fuzzy, and nostalgic!
The kiddie birthday I always wanted to throw: intimate, full of memories and an after party mess 😜

Shawarma Night with the Parents
Paneer Filling with a homemade spice rub, Smokey hummus and a yummy garlic yoghurt sauce and a salad wrapped up in the humble whole wheat roti (I use Khapli wheat from @twobrothersorganicfarmsindia)
The salad is a simple chopped salad with the addition of homegrown mint, olives and dried cranberries that just arrived from a local vendor in Kashmir.
I tried my hand at a hot sauce which wasn’t quite fiery enough for my taste. Next time more chilli!
This brought back memories of a takeaway falafel place the three of us used to visit atleast once a week at Select Citywalk in Delhi after our intense spin class. Their yoghurt sauce was just YUM.
We definitely worked up an appetite going into the meal, and carried forward the burn required for the next class!

Not a word salad!
I usually eat warming foods that nourish the stomach, spleen and gut and keep all Doshas balanced. Largely Indian home-cooked meals that are inherently a balanced plate. But once in a while I just dig into a bowl full of salad and relish it like a kid in a pizza place.
The first one is a “clean-out-the-fridge” sort of Rainbow salad, with fresh salad leaves, grated carrot, bell peppers, cucumber, plum, kiwi, walnuts and seeds, a basic vinaigrette topped with Aamras. (The kids loved this)
Ofcourse you can add a grain to ground the salad but I like it crisp and fresh.
The second is a take on the classic caprese salad, with baby mozzarella, cherry tomatoes, sundried tomatoes, olives, my favourite greens- baby spinach, freshly plucked basil, homegrown micro red amaranth, salt, pepper and the tomato cranberry relish from @thegourmetjar.

Time travel.
Travelled far in distance and memories, by spending the most precious currency we have today: Time.
Time is both precious and priceless.
Speak to your loved ones.. Connect with friends.. Pick up the phone and say Hello.
Spoke to my Dadima today and she was so excited while chatting with her great-grandchildren, telling them the stories I heard as a kid.
These moments are priceless.
