As we all know, the Ozone layer is a part of the Earth’s Stratosphere responsible for absorbing most of the UV rays emitted by the Sun. It is the shield 🛡 protecting the Earth and the life on it. When we abuse the natural and man-made resources available to us, we end up damaging the ozone layer.
Saving our planet from the adverse effects of our own actions is our responsibility. While a part of the ozone layer has been healing because we’re all indoors, we still have a long way to go. This year, as we celebrate 35 years of the global ozone layer protection, let’s pledge to be mindful of our actions, plant more trees, reduce our carbon footprint, and teach our next generations to do the same. The onus of what we leave behind for our future generations is completely on us. Let’s work towards a better tomorrow because we all need ‘Ozone For Life’ 😊🌍

It is very important to begin something with a clear mind and a positive attitude. It could be a new venture, a new task or a new day. The best way for me to start my day and week is with Yoga. But, one can’t keep doing the same routine week-on-week. So today, I practiced the Prasarita Padottanasana (A,B,C,D)and its variations. These asanas work predominantly on the lower body, strengthening the spine, core, and legs; but also calms the mind… stretching the hamstring, calves, and glutes. Along with all of these benefits, it also helps improve digestion and tones the abdominal muscles. This routine may look very simple to perform, but the asanas are extremely effective 🧘🏻♀️

My morning routine gives me the strength and energy to tackle with the worst…
Yoga has the power to instill calm and positivity in one’s being, the weather made it even more conducive. Today’s practice was Utkatasana and Ek Pada Utkatasana; while getting some much-needed fresh air. I particularly like this flow of asanas because not only do they strengthen & tone the lower body, but also improve balance & focus, while strengthening the lower back. A child’s mind and body are like wet clay. So, I believe it is imperative that we introduce our kids to as many sporting activities as is possible. It helps inculcate sportsman spirit, a sense of healthy competition, ample physical activity, and is a good way to build an appetite. Also, once they take a liking to a sport and develop the habit of experimenting with other sporting activities, it helps them stay active well into their adulthood too. But, kids learn best when they see us doing what we ask them to do. So, back in those days when outdoor activities were a part of our lives🤦🏻♀️🤷🏻♀️, I decided to learn a new sport, archery 🏹 on a trip… (never too old to learn) not bad for a beginner, must say 😎😋 As our Fit India Movement completes a successful year today on National Sports Day, I would like to encourage parents to encourage not just the little ones to learn something new, but even themselves… regularly.

For me, the best time to practice yoga is early in the morning on an empty stomach⛅️ Limited pollution of all kinds allow you to breathe and centre your focus with ease. Focusing on yourself allows you to align your mind and body, thereby enhancing your body’s balancing abilities. So today, I practiced the Eka Padasana, or the one foot balancing pose. It works on the mind and body rather effectively. Not only does it improve balance, focus, & posture; but also strengthens the ankles & legs along with the shoulders & muscles of the back, while toning the abdomen.
