Michael, I hear you are considering LIFTING the decades old Pit-Bull ban in Denver! Where do I send the pen?! (Seriously, i will send you an amazing pen) From what I hear, you’re a pretty great Mayor… Thoughtful, considerate, kind, and loyal to your people. In other words, a total Pit Bull!
Kuma and I would love to come visit Denver once the ban is lifted (she loves the outdoors, hiking on leash, is chipped and spayed, so falls within all the proposed guidelines). For anyone else reading along, especially Pit Bull owners and advocates, please head on over to @mayorhancock page and ask him (politely, natch) to change the law and lift the ban.
Mayor Michael, I would love nothing more than to come to Denver, have a beer, talk about the Pen I sent you, and introduce you to Kuma… one of the FIVE pit bulls i have rescued… peaceably, and without incident. You got this Michael!
@mayorhancock , please DM me, I’d be happy to get on the phone and discuss why i think think these bans don’t work and in the end, end up euthanizing more dogs than we already do in Colorado.

Hey DENVER! And specifically Councilwoman Amanda Sawyer! @denvercouncil5 ! I hear The Denver City Council is meeting tomorrow, to possibly overturn @mayorhancock ‘s Denver Pit Bull Ban! Amanda, by all accounts you have done an incredible job for District 5, and I implore you to vote on behalf of the pit bulls that are currently in your shelters and living in the shadows of Denver as a result of Denver’s Ban. All they want is the right to be available for adoption from your shelter facilities, get registered, microchipped and be LEGAL… so they can be the the incredible Denver citizens that Kuma and I know they can be. If you want to chat about it, please by ALL means DM me… i would love to get on the horn and bend your ear on this subject.
IF you are a Denver resident, and IF you love, own or would like to rescue one of these animals that so rarely get a second chance, please attend tomorrows vote at 5:00pm at 1457 Bannock St, room #451 and RESPECTFULLY let yourself be seen, and your voice be heard. I’m sure a whole LOT of Kuma’s would show up if A: they knew this was happening and B: Had a voice. Denver, please Be their voice!
And Amanda! Come see me and Kuma if you are ever in New York City….and if that Ban is lifted tomorrow in Denver, we would so love to come see you and advocate for ALL dogs currently in your shelters! And discuss ways to get more of them homes.

The Denver Pit Bull Ban stands.
This will result in the continued and unnecessary deaths of thousands of dogs.
This is a tragedy for a breed that is already murdered in greater numbers than any other breed in our country.
Bans don’t work.
@mayorhancock, if you want to help the citizens of Denver and these dogs, pass real legislation against pet shops that sell dogs, dogfighting, and breeders of ALL dogs. INCLUDING breeders of pit bulls. People that profit, neglect or abuse dogs in ANY way is the problem… Not the dog, nor the breed. And while we’re at it, how bout we make Denver no kill. That’d be great.
A special apology is in order from you @mayorhancock to all the Denver animal control workers who have the truly nightmarish job of putting these beautiful dogs down on repeat in service of your ignorant policy. Maybe skip a Broncos game and be courageous enough to attend even one of these murders at YOUR city shelter, to understand the impact of your policy.
Yeah yeah… i know I’m a crazy dog guy. Don’t @ me rn. I’m just sad af about this. With all the dumb, unsolvable shit in this world, this one is so easy.
When the time’s right, me and Kuma are coming to Denver. We will defy your dumb ban, And we’re coming for this law.
