We know the statistics: 1 in 3 women will experience some form of violence in their life time, domestic violence rose terrifyingly during lockdown down… from women who have been at the centre of this domestic abuse, to women who still feel sidelined in work spaces, to young girls being sexualised, diminished, and scared, on line and off line abuse, to my own experiences and those of my friends: misogyny is REAL. And it should be treated as such and prosecuted as such. If we can identify it, and act on it, we can make it history. And this means culturally as much as anything else. The UK law commission agreeing that misogyny should be a hate crime is a HUGE step in the right direction. But it is not law yet- and we need it to be. This effects our mothers, sisters, aunts, cousins, friends and therefore it effects us all. Email the law commission, repost this and generally make noise. #makemisogynyhistory #misogynystory
