Our global neighbours need some serious help in the fight against COVID! 70 million people could be pushed into extreme poverty because of it. We need to rally the Aus government to provide life-saving support, so please sign the pledge. See post in my story and help #EndCOVIDForAll !

Next post as part of #ShareTheMicNowAustralia from @queenmodecollective : queenmodecollective also creates resources on our core topics of healthy relationships, self-care and values which covers the whole spectrum of our lives.
This is one of the resources we created during the Australian demonstrations for BLM.
.
There are so many layers to dismantling the system and the process of decolonisation.
We have been taught by society that the rejection of ourselves is necessary to exist in the colony. It is necessary to understand, identify and stop perpetuating narratives that are harmful to BIPOC, this includes some of our own internal narratives.
.
As Aunty #AngelaDavis says, “Why do we use, as our standard, those who are at the center of the structure we want to dismantle?”
“We have to be aware of the extent to which assimilationism tends to reign” . #ShareTheMicNowAustralia #AmplifyIndigenousVoices @sharethemicnowaustralia

COVID-19 won’t stop for anyone until is stops for everyone.
But what if you don’t have access to water & soap to wash your hands, if where you live is too crowded to self-isolate, or there’s just 1 doctor per 10,000 people? Please consider donating to @unicefaustralia to help fight against this disease! #UniteAgainstDisease
I’m extremely excited about being in conversation with Dr. Anna Whateley about her new YA book, Peta Lyre’s Rating Normal, @wedsnightbookclub from 7.30pm August 12! #WNBC is an online writers’ festival, book club, and thriving hub for readers and thinkers. Every day, Muna walks with a friend to the camp’s main water tank to collect clean water for washing and cooking. “We come quickly to fill water, because if the crowd comes, Corona will spread. I hope Corona never comes to us,” says Muna. “We need to wash our hands well to protect ourselves, even though we don’t have soap.” She helps her friends and family to washtheir hands throughout the day. UNICEF estimates that up to 70% of Yemenis currently lack access to soap. #DayoftheGirl #GenerationEquality @unicefaustralia
Final post from @queenmodecollective for #ShareTheMicNowAustralia: How do you know what you believe is the truth?
.
“The danger of a single story is not that they are untrue, but they are incomplete. They make one story, the only story” @Chimamanda_adichie
.
@queenmodecollective chooses to be a driving force behind our own social narratives; grounded in our own lived experiences; expressing the way in which we see ourselves authentically, unapologetically and with clarity. We activate our inherent self-worth by speaking up and dismantling stereotypes by acting in alignment with what is true for ourselves and just for all.
.
How do you choose to ACTIVATE empowering change or DISMANTLE outdated beliefs?
.
I choose to….
UNICEF is providing access to clean water and distributing soap, towels & buckets in Muna’s camp in Yemen – to empower and enable internally displaced families across the country to protect themselves and stay safe. Girls like Muna deserve access to these basic supplies to protect themselves and others. Follow @UNICEFAustralia to see how girls around the world are being supported to be future leaders. #GenerationEquality #DayoftheGirl
