I don’t have many life-long dreams but if I did I’d have to say having a seasonal varietal of Ethiopian Sidamo named after me would rank pretty high! Much love to @portraitcoffeeatl for this most warm gesture. First spin with this, decided to go with the Kalita to keep it simple. Started quarantine doing a 1/18 ratio but bumped down to 1/15 recently and am likely headed for 1/13 soon enough 🤪. This a smooth, subtle coffee; absolutely delicious. Reminds me of living with @Jdubus in the early days of SF’s third wave and rediscovering my grandma’s love of coffee, which, of course, is exactly in keeping with Portrait’s mission — “According to Portrait co-founder Aaron Fender, the Portrait team hopes to reacquaint African Americans with their ancestral practice of farming, harvesting and producing coffee as a mode of economic sustainability and cultural continuity.” Mission accomplished 🙏🏿

I want to express my deep admiration for Anthony, gratitude for his voice and for others helping to shine light, and solidarity in this too-long fight for equality and justice.
