yesterday he turned one year old. happy birthday river quinto. i sure am grateful you were born to find me.
this week i am so excited to #passtheplatform to the talented and inspiring @iamgmjohnson and share their newly published memoir/manifesto ALL BOYS AREN’T BLUE (cover art by @charlylpalmer ). george is an accomplished journalist/activist/author (and soon to be mogul) who has written on race – gender – sex – and culture for essence – the advocate – buzz feed news – teen vogue and more than forty other national publications. their first book has already been optioned by @gabunion for development into a series and they are already working on their follow up to ALL BOYS AREN’T BLUE. we have been chatting over the past few weeks and it’s a real honor to introduce them to my followers. you’ll be hearing more from george as the week goes on and friday we’ll share an IGTV chat where we discuss some things we have in common and some things we definitely do not. i am so grateful to know them and excited for you to as well!
for all of the hard work. patience. perseverance. for the many essential workers. the officials. the administrators. the COUNTERS! for the restoration of dignity to the Office of President of the UNITED States… i am so deeply grateful. may we all allow for the celebrations – as well as for those who are grieving. may we recognize that the challenges we face will not discern between red and blue. may we ALL move forward with respect and return to a kind of empathy that has been sorely missing from our political discourse these past four years. may we welcome the possibility of a future with humanity rather than partisanship at the forefront of our minds. and may our hearts be open to each other so that the foundation of our democracy can be RE-stabilized and built upon. congratulations PRESIDENT @joebiden and VICE PRESIDENT @kamalaharris on your decisive and historic VICTORY!

so grateful for the historic supreme court victory today. but this should serve only as a call to action for every member of the LGBTQ community to continue our fight on behalf of one another – and particularly on behalf of our trans siblings and particularly trans people of color – who are so especially vulnerable even in light of this ruling. unity is our only hope. rise up WITH and FOR one another at every opportunity and DO NOT STOP! #blacktranslivesmatter #blacklivesmatter #lgbtq #lgbtqpride
