Posted @withregram • @feminaindia #FeminaTalkies: “Each experience has been unique. But by far, my breakthrough moment was sharing my cancer diagnosis. I was in denial, trying to go through my life as though blood cancer was a cough or cold that would eventually pass. I was encouraged, at that time, by my agents and managers to keep my cancer a secret. I continued doing my work like nothing was wrong. It led to a lot of questions in my head, such as: Why am I hiding this? What have I done wrong? Why is talking about this disease considered a taboo?”

Well isn’t this a surprise. Thanks for alerting me @dipikablacklist I had no clue of my inclusion on this list along with some outstanding actors (hello @sandymridul !)
This pushes back at my pervading sense of gloom. To quote Jack Gilbert:
‘We must risk delight. We can do without pleasure,
but not delight. Not enjoyment. We must have
the stubbornness to accept our gladness in the ruthless
furnace of this world. To make injustice the only
measure of our attention is to praise the Devil.’
Thank you @filmfare and all the sassy and fabulously messy, talented and mad women of @4moreshotspls (and special thanks to @pritishnandycommunications)
Ms Nandy (@rangitapritishnandy) we have a lot to talk about when we finally get some face time. You are fully to blame for this. And @nupurasthana for capturing – not my best angle – but my best version of Samara Kapoor. Thank you @devikabhagat7 @misschamko for writing this deliciously flawed character. Miss you @nehapartimatiyani not only for your lighting skills but your laugh filling the room just when I was running out of steam. Big salaams to @aasthasharma and team for helping bring Samara to coordinated diva realness. @bhavyaarora and @shraddhabachani for the MUH. And love to an ensemble of fabulously talented, generous performers @iamkirtikulhari @sayanigupta @banij @maanvigagroo
This is already a long, rambling post (many more thanks but I can hear the music cutting me off) which proves it takes a huge, defiantly optimistic team to put game changing content out there.
This is a vote to NOMINATE (ha- gotcha) so get your votes in by Dec 6th. Either way I’m chuffed to be part of this wonderful game ✌️No obligation to vote- but Samara Kapoor would be plenty pleased.

Happy pub day to my heart friend, a pilgrim of loss and beauty @thepostcarder
#Loss is an exquisite, pared down, lucid mediation on the inevitable experience of grief we all attempt to choreograph our lives around. Essential reading. And as always, written in elegiac, searing prose.

“Coronavirus” was one of the most frequently used nouns in the English language by March. “Pandemic” has seen usage increase by more than 57,000% this year, with “circuit breaker”, “lockdown”, “bubbles”, “face masks” and “key workers” not far behind.
The revolution in working habits has also affected language, with both “remote” and “remotely” seeing more than 300% growth in use.
Other news events have also been reflected in language. Use of “Black Lives Matter” has surged, and the phrase “conspiracy theory”has almost doubled in usage between October 2019 and October 2020. Use of “Brexit”, however, has dropped by 80% this year.
Previous choices for word of the year from Oxford have included “climate emergency” and “post truth”. Rival dictionary Collins chose “lockdown” for its word of the year earlier this month.
This is uplifting news. My friend Namita is one of the hardest working authors out there. I gained an insight into both the world of kids books and her passion for nutrition and Indian cuisine when we were neighbours in Singapore. It’s my pleasure to contribute a small blurb to her forthcoming : go Namita! (I’ve got two categorically and creatively fussy eaters, so need a copy pronto)
@withregram • @indianspicebox My journey to writing Superfoods For Superheroes was simply the result of being a mom to a fussy eater with not the greatest immunity. I took to many story-telling tactics to persuade my son to eat his veggies and drink his ginger-turmeric-honey tea…which seemed to work better than nagging! I spent a lot of time researching foods that would boost his immune system and developing recipes featuring those powerful ingredients. Getting kids to eat healthy and make better choices in the face of Halloween candy, Christmas cookies, fast food and countless birthday cupcakes is tough on kids! Hey even most grown-ups struggle! But finding the right balance is key…and building a deep love for nutrient dense foods or superfoods is going to reap us all rich rewards, for life! In my new book, I acknowledge that my kids aren’t going to pick chia pudding over regular pudding and so instead of focusing on trendy and hard to pronounce superfoods, I highlight kid-friendly, easy to find, affordable everyday superfoods like pomegranates and coconuts and oranges…foods that kids naturally love. The book features fun stories with easy recipes and is gorgeously illustrated by @inicecil and published by @harpercollinsin @afterschooltales We hope you love it as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it! #superfoods #kidlit #childrensbooks #childrensbookillustration #childrensbookauthor #childrensbookstagram #authorsofinstagram #kidlitauthor #kidfriendlyfood #kidfriendly #kidfoodideas #kidscooking #sgigfoodies #sgig #sgmummy #sgmom #indianmommyblogger #indianmoms #indianmombloggers
