Happy 25th Anniversary! This was SUPPOSED to be a sweet loving anniversary photo but you have a big piece of salad in your teeth. So there it is. Thank you for making me laugh today and every single one of the last 9,125 days. You are the goofiest, wisest, kindest, dreamboat in the world. These two sweet hearts got engaged yesterday! Our family is over the moon to welcome Lily into our midst. Truthfully, she had us all at hello. As a mom, this is what you dream of for your children…..to find a soulmate in life that gets you and wants you to be the best you can be. The two of them radiate joy and they make even this moment in time shine with hope and promise and laughter. I can’t stop smiling!

It’s not just that you made it across the finish line, it’s the dignity and inclusiveness that you ran the race with. #Shesmy hero. My Mama, Nellie. She taught me tolerance, faith, kindness, how to love and be loved, how to sew, cook and be a feminist. She made our tiny house sing with her laughter and with her sense of beauty. She taught me you didn’t need money to have class. She had such loss in her life and it only made her treasure every moment more. All this and literally the naughtiest sense of humor in the world.

My Dad served in the Army, mainly around Cairo, building airport hangars. His journey over there took forever during which he was so seasick (Arkansas boys don’t grow up on the ocean) that he dropped 20 pounds by the time he got there. He was and is my angel. Thank you to all Veterans today. 🇺🇸
