March 23rd 2018. The due date for our soon to be son. December 1st 2017, Our 6 month check up But I’m in China. December 1st. THE CALL. It’s sounds like my Candace(my wife) is crying. But no, why would she? The words “they can’t find a heartbeat” come out of her mouth while she’s crying. My mind is still in lala land telling her “no don’t worry. Don’t worry”. Nope. That’s not how it ended up. His life was no longer(is the best way I can say it right now). I told Candace “ok I’m coming home right now”. She tells me no don’t worry. I’m so sorry. Please stay and have fun.” Fuck that!!!! I went straight to the hotel lobby exchanging google translate texts with the woman at the front desk for an hour and a half trying to find out how to get from our hotel in Shenzhen to the Hong Kong airport NOW. So I can be on the first flight home. Got to the airport. Then it all started to hit me. We lost him. What the fuck!? Straight to the airport bar was the only way I knew. I got home Saturday December 2nd. She had to wait til Monday so she could make an appointment for a D&E. She couldn’t imagine inducing birth and having that memory. Monday came. And she could only get an appointment for the following Tuesday for the procedure. So wait even a little more than a week and walk around with our dead baby til then? Tuesday December 5 comes. And she starts bleeding and cramping. We call her sister who rushed us to UCLA med center emergency. They took us in right away. Those cramps were contractions!! The nurses nervously asked us if we were aware of the loss. You could see the relief on their faces when we let them know we did. Then we find out Candace is 10cm dilated. So there was no option for the DNE any more. She was giving birth wether she liked it or not. The experience at the Hospital was something you could only hope for. But as insane as this will sound or read. Even though we had a stillbirth. During that birth was one of the most beautiful feeling of togetherness we experienced. December 5th 2017 was the true born day and that’s how I made it there to be with my wife for that experience. My wife is the toughest! #StillBirth #Stardust #FuckLoss #Cremated

I found this trophy(swipe over)🏆about a year ago and could not remember an @ftc_skateboarding contest back in ‘89🤔. Thanks to @sean_dolinsky’s photo of this feeble I finally remember and have the piece to the puzzle that I needed. So stoked! And yes I’ve been milking😂this trick for… how many years now? This photo instantly brought back the nostalgic feeling of being in either @greg.s.carroll’s or @jovontae_888’s car on the way to this contest listening to the New DOC album “No one can do it better” and the Jane’s Addiction album “Nothing Shocking”. And Jovontae fucking with Greg cuz he kept wanting to listen to the Jane’s Addiction album cuz it wasn’t hip hop😂. Either way both of those albums are Classics in my mind and I’m sure to a lot of other people? It’s crazy how powerful music is. It can bring back the whole vision of where you were who you were with and what you were doing and EVEN bring back a scent of whatever you could smell when listening to something years/decades ago. Thank you to @ftc_skateboarding for supporting since day 1💪🏼

I had a Pro Shoe back in the late 1900’s and @ronebrand, @tonyferguson’s brand recently made this pretty rad interpretation of it. Swipe Supreme also re-released the originals back in 2011 in a few different colors. Swipe A pair of the original design that was released in 96 if not late 95. The Internet says 94 but I I didn’t even have a shoe sponsor in 94. Vans flowed me shoes here and there(that’s kinda how it was back then). But in conversations with the Team Manager in 95 I would tell him Vans should make a shoe that I kept daydreaming about seeing/wearing. I explained the idea/design. A couple months later I was asked if I would be interested in having a pro shoe with them. “Shit! What the fuck!? Really!? Why!? Of course though!” And that’s when I officially got my first shoe sponsor. During the design process I mentioned the same idea that I had and couldn’t get out of my head. It was a mid-top like the Half Cab but mix it with the Airwalk Enigma and a splash of the Sk8-Hi and put their stripe™️ on it. But for some reason. At that time they didn’t want their stripe on a pro and/or skater shoe. My memory was they didn’t want it on a “skate shoe”. Cuz they wanted skate and whatever they were branching out to to look separate. But maybe I was misunderstanding and they didn’t want it on a “Pro model”. I don’t know. Either way. I forget the reason. Maybe cause I didn’t even try to hear it anyway. It didn’t make sense to me. Putting the stripe on the shoe in my thoughts was what would make the shoe be so rad! After a little bratty-ness from me. I asked “what about, if we perforated an outline of the stripe(probably inspired by the Stan Smith perf stripes cuz we were skating in those also back then, not sure though🤔) It’ll look like it’s not on there”. So In the end we compromised with that idea. And I had the stripe that I wanted. I was stoked. And I’m stoked it still gets honored here n there. ✨👟✨ Always #InspiredBySkateboarding
