Anne Rice Instagram – FROM THE VAULTS. San Francisco is as much a character in THE VAMPIRE CHRONICLES as New Orleans or Paris, as evidenced by that opening shot of the Golden Gate Bridge in the film version of INTERVIEW WITH THE VAMPIRE. Anne’s vaults are filled with photographs like this one. Here she is with her husband Stan in Golden Gate Park. Stan was the inspiration for the vampire Lestat and would become one of the Bay Area’s most celebrated poets before Anne was first published. He was always the first to read her work up until his death from a brain tumor in 2002.
