I stopped here today on the grass, for a couple of hours. Been writing, scribbling, trying to get to the bottom of things. Boiling it down to, my mind is so distracted and experiencing unwelcome longer stretches of depression. As I look at this view, I wonder what good it would do me to switch off, delete a few apps from my phone, to not reach for the adrenaline. It more often than not is followed by a deep dissatisfaction and I go deeper into the fog. So! Without being toooo dramatic, I’m gonna see how it feels to go dark for a month or two. Never considered it before today. Kathi on my team may post occasionally. Please follow @the_creativepass @thehideaway.studio @mi.mu.gloves for related projects I’ll be continuing to work on and also imogenheap.app as hopefully this will help me focus on music making, so you can follow the journey there with the other #Heapsters. It’s the first fan’s song I’ve ever performed and I’ll be playing it at this evening’s “The Gloves Are On” at 9pm BST for @the_creativepass. YT live link in my stories. Who knows what else is going to happen! Got any song requests/ covers? Otherwise I’ll be happy to just improvise on piano and vocals for a few hours. I won’t have slept for over 32 hours but am still looking forward to our 9th live gathering/improv session fundraising for @the_creativepass tonight Tuesday August 4th 8pm BST. We had one of our Heapsters @emmarosez create a little compilation of the previous sessions to give you a feeling of what to expect (if you’ve never been to one). For doing this she got to pick a cover song for me to sing of one of her favourite songs. However to be revealed next week coz I literally need to sleep on it!
