For most this was an annus horribilis. I have to say for me it was one of the best years of my career. #Bullbul released in the early days of the pandemic (there I am on set, sitting with its massively talented director, @anvita_dee ) and it garnered me my first @filmfare award at the end of the year. In the middle there has been filming for an English series with @netflix_in , a Hindi series and a Bengali series. Very satisfying. So, a happy new year. Remember, you never know what the future holds. Sometimes it can surprise you extremely pleasantly. Cheers.

A #NobelPrize in Geography for those who get where I am. (Yes, I am aware there isn’t one for geography). AND the answer : Imphal! From the comments it looks like a three way tie for the first time (?) in Nobel Prize history (or geography, in this case). This is one of the parts of the world very close to my heart. The guesses were part brave and part fanciful – from Turkey to Hyderabad, Gangtok to Port Blair, Uttarakhand to Darjeeling, Ranchi to Sikkim. Am often asked what connects this country with so many disparate peoples and cultures. This. A wide open tropical sky, fields stretching to the end of your imagination, an arch of trees canopying the road ahead. This happens to have been filmed in Burdwan district in West Bengal as I made my way to an impossibly beautiful zamindari rajbari to shoot. It’s ridiculously amazing how clean (and deserted) Awas beach is. Admittedly this is at 10am on a weekday, but still. I’d go as far as saying this is one of the nicest beaches I’ve ever been to.
